idk you are more of a balanced person so you are serious when you need to be serious and casual when the situation is not so serious
Oh i kinda see it now, but like what @L4NC3_D4_AS14N said im not really the most mature person, and have done some things that a mod shouldnt do (but i havent gotten in trouble since like July which is nice but most people probably have never gotten in trouble on the forums).
Hmmm tho if ima be honest if I was mod Id try to buck my ideas up and be a good boi.
But thats never going to happen (mod thing anyway)
kind of like a abhijeet+xyzzy mod
Yeah ig

i think Athefre is too busy designing methods to be a mod, and that’s not a problem because the more methods the merrier

qwr is my top candidate because it seems he’s strict enough to follow the rules, which means inappropriate behavior, or anything that goes against the forum rules will not be tolerated, which is something that SS needs. A lot of members say “don’t bump threads” “stop necroposting” but the person who is necroposting won’t listen because nothing happens to anyone after necroposting, which makes it seem like it isn’t a big deal.

wow this is my second big reply to a thread today (road to #1 yapper??)
Earlier this year I sent a message to pjk offering to be a mod if a position opens up. So, we'll see.

I think we should make a minimum age requirement for mods just to make sure they have some maturity and also they should have been on the site for quite a few years to know the culture and how to go about every situation. I propose that the minimum mod age become 16 (not to bump myself into contention on purpose but I feel 18 is too old as some people have been on here a while who are less than 18)
I agree with @qwr and @Athefre to become candidates if there were to be a new mod, but I don’t think this site is in a spot where we need a new mod. Most of the drama from 2023-2025 has tapered and I feel the site is in a better spot than it was at this time 1 year ago and definitely in a better spot than 5-8 months ago.

No way is there going to be a mod aged 16. That's not to say that people don't have input here, or valid opinions, but for formal mod stuff got to be 18+.
Are they actually looking for a new mod, did anyone ask?
This is all speculation. I don't think they asked for new mods, and I don't think there is any real need for them ATM.

I think @qwr has a good idea
he said this: “Nominate me for mod. My platform is forbidding all zoomer / gen alpha slang. And off topic posts will be removed with extreme prejudice”
I’m not sure if he was talking about removing the off-topic section as well but if he wasn’t then his “idea” would be good because removing off topic posts outside the off topic area (not counting profile posts) will
1. declutter the forums
2. promote the use of the off topic forums section more

and zoomer/gen alpha slang isn’t even really that cool and it kinda gets overused a lot so yes if I were to nominate someone I would probably say qwr (assuming he doesn’t mean removing off topic section)

another good contestant for the 4th mod is Cale- I mean @That0newe1rdo

I will give reason later as I gotta do something brb
To clarify, this is a joke. There is no application for mods and I am not running for anything. I don't really believe in policing language, but derailing threads especially with few word posts gets annoying. The off topic section is very important as a misc dumping ground as otherwise there would be off topic everywhere.

Yeah theres no need, but it would be good (imo). We do need more tools for sure tho.
I dont know if there are plans for this to happen but maybe this thread could help with changes surrounding moderation

No, this thread is merely a suggestion and place to discuss this tho (as indicated by the title)

While we appreciate the suggestions, the current mod team will decide who and when becomes a moderator. If you have any tools you'd like implemented, please suggest them.

In short, going forward, we will have little tolerance for members bashing others members, posting inappropriate content, or content that is harmful.

We all share the same interest in speedcubing - be useful, help others, learn from others, share what you know, and find interesting. But any inappropriate off-topic behavior or being rude to another member will not be tolerated and will result in permanent removal from the community. If you notice a post that fits this criteria, please report it by clicking report below it and we will handle it, do not respond the post.

While there are many children on here, let's all be mature enough to be useful in the community. When we all help each other, everyone is better off, and the community is better off.

If you have any questions about the rules on the forum, feel free to PM me and I'll help.

Happy cubing!
