Hello there fellow speedcubers! I have been obsessed with speed cubing for a while now and I need some advice on how to improve.

Break Down of my solve:
Cross: 7s
F2L: 21s
OLL: 6s
PLL: 10s

I am currently using the Fridrich method with 2 look OLL, intuitive F2l, and all 21 PLLs. I have recently started trying to improve my F2l by learning the algorithims for special cases. How should I go about practising those? Also I need help on recongnizing PLLs and executing them quickly. Any ideas for practicing that? All help will be appreciated.

Cross: Make sure you execute your cross in 8s or less. Always plan it out entirely. To practice this, take as much time as you need to figure out how to solve it, blindfold yourself, and do it. Eventually get the period of inspection down to 12 seconds or less.

F2L: Practice. Go slow, work on looking ahead.

PLL: Practice executing them over and over. If one doesn't work well with you, switch to another one. Do PLL Time Attacks. For recognition, practice recognizing your PLL while only looking at two sides of the cube. This will come with time and practice.

That's odd.
Your cross is slow, try to see the whole thing during inspection.
F2L is OK for now, it will get faster over time.
OLL is nice. How can it be so fast when everything else is so slow?
PLL is horrible. Try to execute every alg sub-3 seconds.

your cross should be sub 5...
your PLL should probably be around 5s
your OLL is okay for a 2 looker
your f2l is okay, but work on looking ahead, i.e finding other pairs at the same time as solving one. once you are comfortable with that, you could even try and slightly augment some of your solving to make sure your next case isnt an awkward one. therein lies the strength of intuitive f2l :)
you can get from 45 to 35 pretty quickly, by...
- being able to do your cross BLD. you could probably do it a lot faster, with a bit of practice. as long as you can do it without looking; that is important.
- lookahead during f2l. plan the first pair while making your cross.
- just work on execution for OLL :)
- PLL recognition AND execution needs a bit of work. lots of solves and PLL time attacks should help with this.
good luck.

EDIT
lol, i love this forum. im basically reiterating what everyone else is saying, but i hadnt realised it :)

By "8s," Shaden meant 8 moves or less. You should be able to make your cross in 8 moves or less, and you should be able to do it blindfolded.

while this thread is open can you pass me some usefull tips, and what to improve? I want to get sub 30

Cross:6.xx secs
F2L: 18 secs
2look OLL: 5 secs
PLL (21): 5-6 secs

any tips:D?

fair enough.

- for 8 moves or less, 6 s is too slow. try and speed up execution, and make FULL use of the inspection time.
- solve your f2l as smoothly as you can. i.e you lookahead so there are no pauses between your cases. simply doing this every solve, and solving often, should help this.
- your OLL is okay, but learn the dot OLLs so that you never have to do a 3 look.
- your PLL is a little shabby. PLL time attacks will help you train this. aim for sub minute. Also, think about downloading a PLL trainer, as these can help too.

for a target right now, go for...

cross - 4s
f2l - 12s
OLL - 5s
PLL - 4s
= 25s

to be honest, you could probably get your f2l pairs a lot faster than that. once you have trained your lookahead by doing all those smooth solves, work on execution. perhaps look at a couple of algs for horrible cases.

F2L: 18 secs
2look OLL: 5 secs
PLL (21): 5-6 secs

Drop down cross to 2-3secs it is easiest way to drop your time
Try to make cross+f2l avg and look does that match your times posted; if nope then try to find why.

Haha, yes I did. Nice catch Tyson. 8 moves or less, not 8 seconds.
