need help buying some good cubes

IMO this is the ranking of how good these cubes are (A5, GuHong,F-II).

1. A5
2. F-II
3. GuHong

sounds okay, but if it were me, i'd change the lineup a bit more :p

think that AIII and new AIII are pretty similar, but new AIII has sealed pieces.

AV is the most popular of the type As, though AII/AII SV can also be good. Haiyan Memorys, which are basically just professionally modded AVs, are very good, and are often considered to be an improvement on the AV. Also, Dayan Guhongs are very good cubes, so I would recommend getting one.
The A-IIf's feel quite nice, but they're out of production now.

Hope I can help here, with a very long explanation.

There are tons of cubes, but which one to choose? Really, it's all personal preference. If I were you, I would go for either GuHong, or LingYun, depending on your preference (smooth/crispy.)
But, hopefully, i'll shed some light, and if you are a total beginner (I assume you are.. since you're buying cubes for the first time..) you should know that your selection of cubes is much more vast than just the A5, F-II, and GuHong/Lingyun. Of course, there is a reason these are mentioned much more often than the other cubes. The A-5 fits into the "crispy" category. It is a very stable cube, with minimal lockups and good corner cutting. Some may consider this to be the best cube, but there is none. The F-II is a very smooth cube, but because of the 'pillowed' shape of the cubies, and the hollow-ness, and maybe even plastic quality, it has a sort of "bubbly" feel to it. It's quite a challenge to explain it. This cube does not come with great stickers, so consider getting extra sets if you can. This cube feels very "cheap" to some people, because of it being so light. It has great corner cutting, great speed, and some lockups, mostly due to the speed. For some, this cube is uncontrollable. Keep in mind that the F-II needs smaller 3x3 stickers. They are available at Cubesmith. Next is the GuHong. I don't personally own one, but i've tried more than enough to decide that I want one. (I probably didn't, though, being a collector and all :p) It seems to have the best of both worlds. In technical terms, it seems to be just as stable as the A-5, with minimal lockups due to the shape of the cubies, yet it has the speed and corner cutting as the F-II. In terms of feel, it's like a very smooth creamy feel, but a slight click to it, which I like.
On to other cubes, though. (I hope i've covered the main ones.) When getting a GuHong or an F-II, it's important that you still retain fairly accurate turning. When using these cubes with high corner cutting ability, your turning may be sloppy, and cause lockups. For this, I recommend getting something like a Type C. These are very good cubes, with the exception of the core. It is smooth, but doesn't lock up too much. The cornering on this is mediocre at best, so it's great for just keeping your accuracy in shape. For improved results, buy a Maru Core and Hardware set with it.
Moving along, there are many, many other cubes, like YJ, YJ-II, GhostHand, Ghosthand II, Cube4You, Rubik's DIY, Alpha cubes in general, and etc.
I really kind of ran out of ideas here, so if theres any questions, don't hesitate to PM me or something..

I remember I had a similar post, which was much, much better than this... I should go and find it..

In my personal opinion.
1.Ghost hand 2
2. Alpha 5
3. F-II
4. F-I
5. C-II
All of these are cubes I have owned... I also destroyed my A-5 in the beginning with WAY too much jigaloo. and my F-II has this weird gummy feel. The GH2 is really smooth crispy. But it cannot reverse corner cut to save its life, its normal corner cutting is about 25 degrees give or take.

I'mma just reinforce what's already been said. AV and GuHong then choose which one you like best. I have a GuHong right now and it is amazing.
