I'm pretty sure you're screwed there, mate, almost ANYTHING (even simple LBL) requires a little bit remembering (but it can be considered " a lot " to a person like yourself).
Try Keyhole -- no algorithms, just thinking, and experimentation.
When you're ready to get uber-fast (sub-45), learn 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL, Badmephisto has good tutorials on them.
