Call Me: JC; Age: 20; Citizenship: Filipino; First Seen RC: 2007, when I was 2nd year in high school; First Method: made-up method for 5 min.; Current Method: Fridrich method with a twist, best time of 19 sec.; First RC 3x3x3: Pillow-type Vcube; Other Puzzles: I currently owned pillow-type Vcube 3x3x3, another 3x3x3, 15num., Twist, Mastermorphix, 4x4x4(not a speedcube), Fisher Cube and Hexagonal Dipyramid. I also play Tetris battle on FB and Tetrisfriends Online; I become--not bragging about it--God of Tetris for several battles (2P for example). I play Sudoku and riddles on the Internet; Cube Interest: To create methods faster than the currently fastest ones. But I still find the Fridrich method the best one; Failure: Couldn't reach at least 10 sec. for a 3x3x3. That's why I joined here. I memorized enough algos and inventing new ones prior to the "twist" I said above; Progress: I found several algos for my preferred method and still twisting more...
More About Me: I think I'm obsessed with Rubik's puzzles because I'm dreaming about it sometimes (I dream I bought crazy shapes of Rubik's puzzles and then wake up disappointed). But here in the Philippines, Rubik's puzzles are very rare and expensive. Also when I see grid-like patterns with colors on objects, I get the feeling to want to buy it. Is that an addiction of the puzzles?<END>

Welcome. I'm very curious what your made up method is, would you provide a brief description? You should be a puzzle designer so you can make all your dreams come true :P

I don't know if someone already knew this but here it is...
Inspection Time: Locating either bad edges or good edges, cross-edges (it may be possible to locate also an F2L pair but I'm comfortable with it during the cross)
The Solve:
1. Correcting the bad edges
2. CFOP (The Fridrich method) but only with selected algos. for the F2L and the cross.
What's Bad: Additional turns which mean longer time, additional intuition for the correction.
What's Good: Less Front or Back turns, possibly no cube turns, less memorization of algos for F2L and OLL and easier recognition during F2L.
The Effect: After the cross, every edgepieces' top color on the top face that is not of the top color (i.e. top face: yellow) belongs to second layer for F2L. Also, after the F2L, the top cross would be already fixed....
Wanna try it: Solve your cube, then shuffle it without F or B turns (or you may turn F2 or B2). This way you skipped fixing the bad edges. and continue to CFOP. Solve the cross without F, B (or you may turn F2 or B2). It might happen that you use an inappropriate algos during F2L to ruin the soon-to-be top cross but you will see the effect I mentioned above.
By the way, Thanks!

Sounds like the ZZ method! Which is a pretty neat and fast method, many speedcubers use it.
