MoYu AoSu 4x4x4 [Review]

Far better than any other 4x4 I've tried and that's straight out of the box. I haven't had any issues with pops in my 1st 100 solves and my turning isn't very accurate.

Aosu Stickerless

I just saw a Stickerless Aosu on Hknowstore? Anybody got any reviews for that? Like is it better than the current stickerless 4x4s?

I got the stickerless with standard colors recently from thecubicle and it is really good. The best stickerless 4x4 right now in my opinion.

I got it last week and have been breaking it in since

Thoughts on the puzzle:
The puzzle is an absolute beast! It is the best 4x4 i have ever felt hands down. It fixes all the problems of the weisu and the shengshou. No pops and the speed is great. It feels like a weilong mixed with a Fangshi, fast and scratchy. Not even one pop yet but i think it will pop if I try to speed solve it at lose tensions.Corner cutting is enough so not many lockups. Thats it! It is the best 4x4 what so ever!

I've just taken delivery of a white Aosu, and actually I'm very disappointed with it.

I'm wondering if mine is faulty in some way tbh. I notice when turning the middle slices, the pieces sort of "catch" on something when they line up. It's really horrible, it completely interrupts my algorithms. It sounds as though there's some sharp bit of plastic in there that's halting the pieces, some moulding issue.
For such an expensive puzzle, I'm pretty surprised at how poor mine is. Maybe I just got a dud I guess. Will take it apart now and see if anything can be done with it.

Is there a way to get these little rings to actually stay on the ends of the core and not be loosely moving around so I can start assembling?

Edit: never mind, after some difficult tinkering around I think I've got it down.

I haven't been able to fix it yet, but I did finally figure out what the issue was. If I turn an outer layer while the inner layer isn't completely aligned, (Like doing U after an Rw) something pushes it out of place... and it only needs to be misaligned by a 1/3 of a cubie. After that, the center piece isn't there to hold it back anymore and it can pop out.

Here's a picture I caught of a pop during OLL Parity. The pop occured while doing a U2 after doing Rw'

I don't think it's the edge piece that catches it. It might be the base of the corner piece. But it could also simply be friction between the small piece and the big internal piece... dragging it along during a U2. I only really started understanding the issue last night. I'm going to play around with different tensions and lubing. If excess friction is the cause, that should be the remedy. Short of that, internal catching is the only other explanation... that and sucking at 4x4.

Did you end up overcoming this problem yet? I have been having frequent pops on my Aosu.(Did like 40 solves tonight popped about 8-9 times.) Wondering if any tensioning and lubing can help because my bad turning is going to take a while to get better.

Yeah, I had some similar lockups, I tightened all the faces by like a quarter turn and added more lube and it hasn't happened since :)
