Hey,

I'm very stuck on the last layer. Do I really have to do it over again, when I face a parity(???) problem? So when I see the edges or the corners aren't solveable do I have to switch to identical pieces and do the whole thing again?
That can't be possible, there must somebody be out there, who has figuered out something... or shall I just tile my megaminx with twelve colors?

Corners are always "solvable". There is no such thing as identical corners, wo corners with the same 3 colors are mirror images of each other. Thus no parity on them.
For edges, if you face a parity, you can proceed as follows:
- bring an edge of the first layer on the last layer, next to the identical one and with the same orientation;
- perform a 3-cycle of edges on the last layer (F2 U R L' F'2 L R' U R L' F2 L R' U'2 F'2);
- bring the first layer edge back to the first layer.

It can't be that hard. What about a 3 color one? That would be really hard. Or maybe 2 color.
