Yeah I sorted it out. I just didn't find the maglev swap when I unboxed it. I unbox things very aggressively lol.

Might try swapping my ys3m center with my meilong 3m.
This adds dual adjustment to the cube much more easily.
But i might not like the way it feels, so ig ill have to wait tilm i can do it (tonight, not home yet)

Its that or 3d print a core.
Or buy a pre printed one of kewbz uk (but my broke ahh cant afford the expensive as hell delivery)

Took off the bc of my ys3m.
Its literally just the standard ys3m but the corner stalks have magnets and there is teal internals.

Spring noise has decided to visit my meilong 3m.
So i really want to get maglev in asap.
And i cant use a drill, and lost the pliers bruh.
Does anyone know something else i cpuld do to remove this ?

I'd like to add maglev to my RS3M V5 BC to remove the clacky spring noise, and ideas on a cheap/mid-range maglev that I could swap in?

MoYu has a maglev conversion kit, idk if it works with that cube.

Sorry for no updates.

Getting some mags with my next cube order, so i should have em by the end of the month, and then from there i can basically mod the whole cube (aside from maglev but its not a big deal)

The only question is ?

Standard 8 mag ball core ?
8 mag ball core + repelling edge magnets ?
20 mag ball core + repelling edge magnets ?

You must add everything but that's only so you go through the pain of doing so......

I cleaned out my Rubik's Speed 3x3 that I've been using for 3 quarters of the year and it took nearly 3 hours alone to do so and yeah. Good luck!

3 Hours ? I can clean most my cubes in maybe 30 mins at most, e.g for this mod i cleaned my meilong 3m which i have had since april 2024.

Spring noise went away on its own btw, so im not that bothered to get maglev right nowm

3 Hours ? I can clean most my cubes in maybe 30 mins at most, e.g for this mod i cleaned my meilong 3m which i have had since april 2024

I use my cube at school every day and it had BLACK STUFF in it, so I decided to clean it out by literally taking the pieces apart and putting the magnets + opened pieces into a bowl of water for about half an hour.


I let them dry in the sun while I was at school and then when I got home I rebuilt the cube and set it up with my 1 lube. It was very annoying to get even tensions but now I think it's pretty nice

I have a friend in school that 3d prints cubes. 1st batch was mid (no magnets) 2nd batch was actually pretty good, tho it was heavy from the magnetsand cube was dense. I feel like if you can 3d print, you can make even crazier modifications. just a thought tho

i dont have a 3d printer, but my friend does so i reckon i could see if he could print a core that would be able to make a better core.

What's the maximum number of magnets ever used in a 3x3 ?

Well...

48 edge to corner magnets
16 corner to core magnets
24 edge to core magnets
12 maglev rings

thats 100

but someone could also add 48 more magnets to the edges and corners to increase magnet strength, and add 20 more to increase the edge/corner to core magnets, and they could also do 24 more magnets that are center to edge.

so i think the most in a 3x3 is somewhere around 148 to 192
