Wait a minute! For me, the best value cube is the Tornado V2, if you do not want a smartcube. After what must be a thousand solves by now, it is getting better and better. So smooth, quiet, refined, effortless to turn, and it feels so nice and balanced. The reverse corner cutting issue has never bothered me. Sometimes, I wonder how relevant test results are vs actual practice results.
And if you want a smartcube, there is unfortunately nothing really so good at a reasonable price. If however you do not mind paying for the best, the Moyu AI cube with my DSM mod is the very best. That's my honest opinion. I now wish QiYi will release a smartcube with a similar core but based on the Tornado V2, and that will no doubt be even better and very interesting, if QiYi can also set a new standard in smartcube pricing or value with it. Maybe around US $39?
LATEST. I just noticed this. TheCubicle is selling the Tornado V2 for 22 USD, 1 dollar less than the Moyu WRM 2021 Lite (23 USD). I like these flagship prices.

Yeah. It would be interesting if Qiyi came up with a more "budget" smart cube. Qiyi standard has really gone up after the MS and the x man line. (I originally thought they were the cheapestcubes in the market)
the 356 RS is a great cube, just.. yeah,.. no magnets. But it's light and very smooth. I used to use the RS as my 'out of the house' cube that I took with me, I don't like taking expensive cubes out of the house.
The RS was one of the first I purchased after learning on a loaner. Took it out of the box, used it for a day and put it back in the box. It feels like it’s going to fall apart at the seams with every turn ( to me) I did just put 72 magnets into it though to see if I can make something of it.
Idk, I've done hundreds of solves with mine. I used to leave it in the glove box and take it with me when I knew I'd be in a waiting room or standing in line (gave me something to do besides stare at a phone screen.)
Never had any problem with it. It's a quality cube; just no magnets.
