... The fact that Im having so much trouble deciding. This is a good question. The definition of sport is: An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
Now the question is does cubing involve physical exertion?

The greeks defined that any game that can train you for war is a sport. I don’t entirely agree with this but it is a good foundation.
If chess is a sport, then so is cubing.
Chess isn’t really a sport, glorified board game at best.
Curling is cool to watch.

Speedcubing is cool to watch too.

Both of them should be considered sports.
Being a spectator friendly game is important but doesn’t make it a sport.
I say cubing is a sport it may not be a physical sport but its a sport.
Competition ≠ Sport but it is a start

according to google: Speedcubing (also known as speedsolving, or cubing) is a mind sport involving solving a variety of combination puzzles, the most famous being the 3x3x3 puzzle or Rubik's Cube, as quickly as possible. An individual who practices solving twisty puzzles is known as a speedcuber, or a cuber.

The "Is cubing a sport?" Thread from 1-2 months ago, someone also quoted google and it said A SPORT. Then, someone changed it to A MIND SPORT. It should even be documented here.
