I've said it before and I'll say it again: the distinction between intuitive and algorithmic F2L is the most ludicrous concept I have ever heard about. Why not use both? What's intuitive to me is magic to a n00b. Once you get experienced, a lot of algs will be intuitive. I think the M2 U' M U2 M' U' M2 PLL is intuitive, because it's just a commutator with setup-moves and a cancellation. Should I use the intuitive PLL or the algorithmic PLL? Let's make a new thread with a poll about it!!
What a bunch of rubbish!
Ultimately, you want to be able to do every single case from every angle without any pauses (no pauses between pair up/insert for example), so you also want to practice every single case from every angle without any pauses. This is purely algorithmic. You also want to have an intuitive understanding of how it works, that makes it easier to remember them (during team solves, and on very slow puzzles) and perhaps find your own shortcuts if you understand the F2L system.
It's 2 sides of the same coin.
