I've been learning Intuitive F2L for about a week and I know all the cases and can execute them all for the most part. There are a couple that catch me off guard, mostly when I have all 3/4 corners and I have a hard time figuring out how to do them.

If someone would like to help explain each case while you have 3/4 corners done, I'd be appreciative.

But what I really wanted to know is what is a good amount of time that it takes to really get good at intuitive F2L? 3 weeks/1 month/2 months?

Any replies are appreciated. Thanks.

1 month took me down to a decent low 30sec average with half-full 3LLL

The biggest part is just bending your mind a little more, trying to optimize your F2L system. What helped me out THE MOST was adhering to the "7move goal", where each (except some bad cases) pair and insert can be completed in 7moves or less.

Now, for your last slot....

Badmephisto's tutorials are just the BEST! follow them down to the letter (er word). The last slot IS a little restricted, but keep in mind you always have 2 free faces to manipulate the corner-edge pair

Yeah, I caught on so quick because of Badmephisto's tutorials, they are great. But I wish he would've went over each case in the last slot :(

I guess if no one helps me here I'll have to figure it out myself :P

What's your problem for inserting the last pair? Is it that when you do it, you mess up the other already inserted pairs? Well when you hide the corner pieces to join the edge and corner pieces, turn the cube and try to hide it in your last empty slot, and then join them together, and finish the F2L. I'm sorry if that's not clear, as it can't be much more clearer in words. Just try to figure out yourself how to do it without messing up the other pairs. F2L is the most complicated step in the Fridrich Method, and the step where you'll have to figure things out by yourself. This also goes for if you need to separate the corner and edge pieces because they're not in their right places. It's really not that hard. If you try it a few times, and use logic, I'm sure you'll figure it out yourself.;) And what do you mean what are the individual cases for the last pair? They're the same for all the other pairs. I hoped this helped you.

When 3/4 corners are there, you can use R U R' to get the corners out, but of example, if your target slot it FR, your cross colour on your corner is facing towards you, and both the edge and the corner have the same coloured sticker on the U face, you can't hide the corner as F because one slot goes into the top layer. A better way to hide it would be U' R because no filled slot would got into the top layer.

Sorry if that was confusing, I tried my best. It has taken me 3 months to get to 15-20 seconds for F2L.

I think it is easier to just learn the actual algorithms because they are so easy.

I disagree. For intuitive F2L, if you have good instruction, you can understand it in about 1-3 days. For F2L requiring algorithms....I'd say 1+ month(s). Why? you have to learn all 41 algorithms! Such a pain. And you have to memorize them and execute them quickly. Intuitive F2L requires no algorithms, and it's teaching you how this and that works, so you basically "know" 41 algorithms. Then you can make up your own tricks. For F2L with algorithms, you don't know what's going on, so it's hard to make up your own tricks. After you get good with intuitive, it's recommended that you learn some of the algorithms because there are some cases (when the corner and edge are paired up incorrectly) when algorithms are helpful. This will also be fast learning because you already know how everything works.
