Does anyone else think that 4 moves is too few for an official 2x2 minimum scramble sequence? Imagine explaining to a non cuber that you can get a 2x2 scramble in a competition that's only 4 turns away from being solved. Now that 4 pad mode is coming and there will be a seperate list of 4 pad times, why not also increase the minimum move count? Now would be the time to make that change before the 4 pad top world rankings are all 4 movers.
I don't see other people expressing this view so I'm curious if top 2x2 solvers or anyone in general think it's a good idea or not. The only thing I found was a discussion thread from 2008, and then 4 movers become allowed after that.
It would make official 2x2 single more interesting. I'm not sure what a good minimum optimal scramble would be, maybe 9 moves? Ziyu Ye's 0.39 isn't likely to ever get beaten on 4 pad mode with a 4 mover so why not start something new?
