Imsoosm's Progression Thread - learning eg1

Should I buy the MGC 4x4 or the Yuhu megaminx?

Ok it's decided then, I'm just gonna stick with this list.
Buying the 3x3 and 2x2 first because i consider them to be more important.
Also, funnily on the app I'm buying the rs3m v5 on it's only ~13 bucks instead of 25 lol

I bought the gan 251 pro as well, it's arriving in a few days!

I'm (FINALLY) finishing off some CLL algs, I finished learning 3 U case algs so now I'm only 3 T cases away from full CLL

Probably also going to flip through the 2x2 algdoc and find some replacements for my current algs

Both of the cubes I ordered arrived!!!
The RS3M V5 is a very solid cube, it's very controllable I'm loving the smooth turning. I have to mess around with the settings a bit more to find which feels best for me though.

The Gan 251 is just instantly so much better than the Flare, the turning is smoother and almost never locks up. Also the corner cutting is insane lol.

2x2 average is already lowered to sub 3 (high 2), and I'm still working on the T and U CLL cases' recog. I'm going to start learning EG-1 soon.

As i've said before, comps in China are opening again, so my goal right now is to try to reach sub-2 before my first comp, so I can get on the leaderboard for "best first average"

It doesn't seem that hard to beat rn lol.
Future goals might be to break NR

I guess your progression thread doesn't say you're minesweeping anymore, but what are your PBs for beginner, intermediate, and expert?
My beginner pb is 1s, it was a two clicker

Intermediate and expert I can't remember that clearly but I think it was a high 20s (maybe 28-29?) for intermediate and a sub110 for expert.

I still play minesweeper every now and then, I use Cary Huang's website now because it can automatically calculate avgs for you (https://htwins.net/minesweeper/)

Is the Yulong pyraminx any good? I'm planning on buying the Yuhu megaminx and the shop I'm buying it from offers me a discount if I buy both at the same time.

Got a 5 mover pb single

Ok I've been kinda inactive last week because I fell off my bike, scraped my hand, and couldn't cube, but now my hand is mostly healed. So I've been practicing 3bld a lot, and I got my first timed success just now!! (with the legendary +2 on a bld solve)

Super proud of this, and I'm expecting to progress a lot more with bld!

Also, I managed to decrease my 4x4 global by 10s over 1 week with lots of practice, and I'm now sub-1 on 4x4.

I'm having a bit of trouble learning eg-1 algs, a lot of the algs are too similar so I sometimes mix them up (a lot is just the same alg but different ways of inserting a corner), is there any way I can differentiate between them easily?
