[Help Thread] How to increase Execution Speed?

How to execute PLLs in around 1 second?

Step 1: choose good algs
Step 2: Hold the cube in a good position

and Then what?

I am practising a lot but it takes me 3-4 seconds for some cases and sometimes the cube slips out....

I think there's a little more than just doing it over and over - that's of course what you need to do but I think it can help to consciously know what you need to practice, mainly I'm talking about pauses. You want to identify what's making it slower than you want. When you execute a PLL (or any alg you want to improve), as you do it concisouly try and identify where any pauses are (even .25-second pauses, for example) and then try and figure out the reason - I think a lot of times adjusting youf fingering (which is different for everyone, so you have to try things and find out what feels/works best for you) can smooth out a pause. Another way to identify pauses is to record yourself doing the alg. I think once you can smooth it out and reduce pauses the execution of the alg overall becomes and feels better and this will in turn improve both TPS and execution time (execution time = TPS + pauses).

I like your advice

Look at Badmephisto's 'how to execute ?-perm like a pro' videos.

They really helped me figure out the best way to do some algs I was having trouble with.

Does anyone have suggestions to speed up execution (for algorithms and such)? I've realized some of my OLL and PLL algs take me over 3 seconds to execute.

wow this thread title is misleading. "execution" implies how long it takes to do the solving portion in blindsolving. something like "how to increase turning speed" would be more appropriate.

To do algs faster you can:
1. learn the best algs
2. find a comfortable way to execute it (this may take a while, watching pll execution vids helps)
3. drill
4. this is very important: work on recognition. you dont want to be pausing for like 3 seconds between steps.
