Hey,
I PB after 1 or 2 hours of cubing everytime.
I was wondering, is there a way to be at your top quicker and not "waste" those hours ?
I mean, when you think about it, it's kinda weird that sometimes we are so much better than the rest of the time.If there are any tricks to get to this top level more often or quicker, PBing our ao's can be so much easier.

Do long sessions instead of short ones, 3 hour long sessions are better than 12 15 minute sessions, as with the short sessions, you will take sone time to warm up and get used to speedsolving again, and only a few minutes will be left. Then you have to do it again for other sessions.

OP's asking how to do it without the long sessions.

Do hand warmers really work that well ?
I usually just like sit on my hands to warm them up. You don't need to go out and buy actual hand warmers--your legs will do just fine.

I know that Chris Olson said that he does better when he's typed beforehand, so if you have any online homework or an essay that you could do before a session, that might work as pre-warm up. Playing piano would probably also help as warm up if you need to practice for lessons/band etc. Anything that gets your hands and fingers moving should help.

I deal with cold hands a lot, too. I try to make sure that I'm wearing sleeves and that the windows are closed, even if it's reasonably nice out.
I find that getting in the zone is an important part, so I'll listen to music while I solve, and I try to do it when I don't have other things that I need to do, like homework, so that I'm not preoccupied or feel guilty when solving.
