Let me make the question less arbitrary by writing our the following statements:

Top level MBLD implies 50 points sub-hour
Ideal age can be any age as there is no specific age skill required to perform MBLD
Other BLD events take shorter time to practice so free time is less of a constraint for 3/4/5 BLD (dubious statement)

We recently saw a 6 year old Chinese girl (coached by Yucheng chen) doing a 6 cube official MBLD attempt. This makes the lower limit much lower than what the community thought or believed in.

The oldest person to do MBLD at a decent level is hard to decide as no one is world class in senior category (40+ or 50+)

What do you think are the ideal age bracket for MBLD preparation (world class)?

Rowe is getting up there, though. 😄

I have a feeling you can be pretty good at an older age as long as you start young. So maybe 10 or 20 years from now, we might have a world class 40+ person or two. And Rowe could be it sooner than that if he keeps up with it. And Graham can't be that far behind?
