How fast do you have to be until your good?

I agree, It's all about opinion and perspective. If you can solve the cube you are fast in the eyes of many. If you can get faster you can be considered good by more people. It really doesn't matter how fast you are, what cubes you know, what events or how many events you do. As long as you are happy with what you accomplished in the end that's good.

I would say try to be sub-25 and then move to sub-20 and so on and so forth. I just did a lot of solves without learning anything and shaved 7 seconds off of my previous average
I Agree but it is sorta hard for me to get from one sub-x another sub-x for me. I had to learn a lot of tricks for me to catch up.

honestly yea, its hard to learn enough tricks to be faster. I had to work on F2L for about an hour this week just to find a more efficient way to do it. Even at that though, Gradually you will get faster if you practice long enough. I have been cubing since December 2021, and I have taken my times from 3 minutes to 1 min 30 sec just by practicing. The fastest I got with the beginner method was 53 seconds. That was when I started learning 2-look OLL and solve PLL algs. Now with that I averaged 30 seconds. Now with F2L I average 22. So its all about practice with what you know and the tricks will teach themselves.

You are a fast cuber when you consider yourself to be one.
I have to disagree. Do you think Tymon considers himself fast? I bet he doesn't. True legends know their weaknesses. People who consider themselves fast will never improve, because they have the wrong mindset.
So then, when are you fast? Well, fast is very relative. I am very fast, if you ask someone who averages 30. I am slow, if you ask someone who averages 6. Basically, you are fast compared to those slower than you, but slow compared to those faster than you. Therefore you could argue you're only objectively fast when you're the fastest in the world. The rest is only subjectively fast.

Yep (In all reality a person who has at least expolred cubing a little and is not super egotistical)
that makes no sense to me. let me rephrase it
imagine that in the whole world there are 100 cubers, and 99 solve under 10 seconds, and 1 solve in 2 minutes, is he fast because he thinks he is fast?

Well if he explored cubing a little he would know that there are 99 people who solve it in under 10 seconds and if he is not super egotistical he would know that he was not fast. (and I can see what you mean)

I mean it depends on what event you are talking about. For 3x3, sub9 seems to be the typical barrier for calling someone "fast" these days. Keep in mind "fast" is a moving target based on people's expectations. If China keeps cranking out these amazingly talented kids in such short time periods, the definition of fast is gonna get a lot faster.
