How do I get sub 15 on 3x3?

That's a REALLY inefficent way to make the cross. Ideally, you want to do the cross entirely entuitively. Don't follow a formula, just look at them and figure out how to do it in as few moves as possible.

Keep in mind, 99.9999% of crosses can be solved in 8 moves or less. If you're getting more moves than this, you're not doing it well enough.

Ahem, it's 100%

Use a metronome. Make sure you set it slower than how fast you turn normally during F2L, but not too much slower. Every time it beats, make a turn. Your goal is to NEVER miss a beat, and to NEVER cancel a move (example: doing R then R' right after you do the R...that defeats the purpose).
The point of this is to lookahead. Make sure the speed is high enough so its a little tough to keep up, not too slow that its easy, not too high that its too hard to keep up with. Gradually increase the beats per minute over the days. .

Thats an online metronome if you don't physically have one. Since you are sub 20, I'd say start at around 120 BPM then increase by about 6 each time you get the hang of it (so 120, 126, 132, etc)
Hope this helps

Not only does that cross take more moves than needed, but worrying about permutation after you put the cross pieces down gives you bad lookahead. Try to get out of that habit, badmephisto has some vids about the cross.

Alrighty, thanks for the input. :)

edit-- Did 25 solves, scrambles from cubetimer.. after I got used to the change, I've gotten many 16s and 17s :D

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that a very tiny number require 9 turns, I'll see if I can find where I saw it.

Edit: Nevermind, I guess it's always 8.

my average is 18.xxs , that is my huge archivement , but now i one to sub 15s , can anyone guide me what to do , what should i practise ??? thank you

My average is around 18 sec, for me things I need to learn:

Cross- You need to see X-cross and make sure or see in advantage the first pair when you make the cross

Pairs- Make sure you can select and see two or more pairs to make so you take the one that is the best. For F2L there are a lot of optimize moves, for sure if you rotate the cube a lot in the F2L phase you can improve a lot

For the last pair you can manipulate the LL

OLL learn them from all sites, and select the OLL (so you have more than one alg for the same OLL) that create a better PLL for you

In general
Lookahead is key for cross and F2L
turning speed is key for OLL and PLL phase

My advice would be to just practice cross and F2l ONLY. I have never practiced my PLL or done a PLL time attack, but when I timed each of my PLL the other day out of curiousity, I found out I could sub-1.5 all 21 PLLs and sub-1 about...8 ? of them I believe. So PLL speed should come naturally from solving. F2l should be your main priority. But maybe this is just me and you should practice your LL once in a while. My advice is to focus on F2l 80% and LL 20%

my cross take mee about 2-3s , LL are not much good now

Those seconds add up. If you're averaging sub-20, a 3 second cross is killer. If you were making your cross in 8 moves every time, you'd have a 1 second cross and that right there brings your average to 16. Then, just cut 2 seconds off F2L and bam, sub-15.

i`ve practice a lot but it won`t work, after watching an sub 15s average video , i feel disappointed , this guy solve the cube slowly but he still get an 13-12.xx , some time is 15-16.xx .i try it , i use slowing turning , fast turning, even when i solve it fluently without stop to lookahead , but i still get an 17.xx , that is disappointed. Please tell me how :)

problem with sub 15

Hello.
First off.
I didn't know where to say this so I ended up making a thread.
If there is a thread where I should ask there please tell me and I will delete this thread.
Thank you.

Currently I'm a sub 20 cuber with PB average 16.46 and PB 11.14.
I only use Fridrich without any techniques.
Most cubers solve and hold the first layer cross on the bottom,
but I make it on the top and hold it on the left during F2L and on the bottom during LL.
:fp
I can solve the cross on the bottom but:
Left average: 9~10 second for F2L
Bottom average: 12 seconds for F2L

My main cube is a lubed DaYan GuHong.

I kinda feel confused.:(
I don't really have progress recently.
I kinda feel like I should hold the cross on the bottom but it's slower for me.
I don't know what to do.
So guys and gals,
if you have any advice,
I'll be glad to hear.
Thanks.:D

Im making slow progress towards sub-15 too! Just practice practice practice
And I have heard people recommend doing cross on bottom, although I'm not sure because I don't use CFOP. However sounds like you can look ahead for the last step.

Well, it's not so slow to make the cross on left, so you could maybe switch it to left so it matches your F2L.
F2L on left isn't so bad too.
