Hong Kong Cube Day 2023

I have just learnt all G perms today, and I only have R perm and V perm left. Still 2 weeks before the comp, so I can probably learn full 1 look PLL before the comp!
I've learnt R perm just now both Ra & Rb, and I have got V perm left. what V perm alg should I use? (I will be able to do full one-look PLL after learning V perm)

It happened to me. I was on the waiting list and then I got confirmed. But that competition had 200 people and I was first on the waiting list, so it is not common.
This comp has 190 ppl and I’m first on the waiting list as well
You will most likely be accepted onto the competitor list
In New York Yopen 2022, my friend was like, 6th on the waiting list, but still got in because they had so many people on the waiting list that they just increased the competitor limit.

Good luck though!
Next time I suggest being ready to put your information in, and if wondering what events to do, just select all events with the "all" button, then you can always change it after you pay and are in.
Actually they have already increased the limit from 160 to 190 and they said it is hard for them to further increase the limit
Hopefully someone cancels then.
I'm still on the waiting list and I'm quitting cubing if I cannot join.

I feel so bad. I’m in the first place of the waiting list and now I’m rejected. I will have to wait for another 4 years for the next comp in Hong Kong.
You’re going to miss the comp, but you’re also moving to the Netherlands in 17 months so it’s ok
Seriously this might be a good idea. I feel no hope in this place and I think I will just leave once I graduate and get my CPA license.

Anyway I will try to keep myself proactive. I have just received the magnets for my speed tuttminx. I can relax and magnetise my puzzles instead of forcing myself to learn a bunch of algs.

Wait why would you have to wait four years? The only reason there was a gap between 2019 and 2023 was coronavirus right?
Not only because of the pandemic. Hong Kong has completely turned into a mess since mid-2019 (u'll know what I'm talking about if you watched the news about Hong Kong at that time). It's a long story but tbh at this point I just don't think anyone here would be willing to stay for any longer if they can leave. It will be a lot more easier for me to leave once I charter my CPA license.

You mean the protests?
