Okay I know how to hold it just so you guys aren't freaking out haha but is it better to have one side of the cube facing me at all times or does it not matter?

I suppose it doesn't matter too much. But, if you don't have to rotate the cube, it's easier to more quickly identify the last layer (OLL and PLL)? If the rotations aren't part of an algorithm, I suppose it's a waste of time. I saw that Rama didn't rotate his cube at all during his recent average of 12 video.

I would have to say that it depends on what you feel comfortable with concerning finger tricks. For me, even though it probably slows me down a tiny bit, I turn the cube around during my solve, so I don't just look at one side the whole time.
