So, I have a lot of trouble aligning big cubes with one hand. With a 5x5, I can't even do the sexy move continuously without regripping the cube with the hand that's holding it at the back/bottom with every 4 moves/every "sexy." When I'm solving, it's a pretty big problem, especially on the 3x3 stage. My TPS is awful. Do I just need to practice? Should I do hand strengthening exercises? Or should I experiment with different ways of gripping the cube?

My problem, more specifically, is that when I'm gripping the cube with one hand in order to be able to do L or R with the other hand without M layers coming with it, I am unable to do U/U' with either hand without regripping. I can almost manage if my dominant hand is the one aligning the cube, but not really, and I'm hopeless if I'm using my bad hand.

I'm aware that a lot of big cube solvers (Kevin Hays in particular) have huge hands. I do not, but they definitely aren't small, either. They're average sized, or maybe even a bit bigger than that. Either way, definitely not small enough to account for being unable to hold big cubes.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance, guys. :D

Instead of supporting the cube with your fingers, try resting the entire body of your cube on your palm, and gripping several layers with your fingers. This way, I can do algorithms just as fast as I can on the 3x3.
