[Help Thread] Help with learning easy new clock method

All of these fancy clock methods are new to me. The only method I know is to solve cross, flip over, solve cross, solve corners.
What would you recommend for such a beginner? I don't want to break world records, but something simple and efficient would be nice.

Just the method you normally use, so flip. You can get pretty fast with that method.

So, I have been looking into learning a new method, but all of the methods always have memo with M1-5. This, for me is a lot of stuff to process, and I really do not wanna use one where it is using M1-5 because for me that makes memo longer and also a lot harder to learn. Should I just suck it up and learn it, or do I just stick with the method I am using? Thanks!
i created a 7 simul flip version where you only have to memorize 3 numbers, and the calculations are as easy as pie

idk if ur interested lol

alrighty, i only have a written turotial so hopefully it makes sense 💀 😭 obviously this probably isnt the best 7 simul flip version, but i think its really good if you want to get into 7 simul, this is a great stepping stone

Lower case = Side you start on (also the side you start memo)

Upper Case = Opposite side you start/memo from (with an x2 rotation)

UR4+ DR4- DL5+ UL6+ U3- R4+ D4+ L2- ALL1- y2 U2+ R5- D5+ L4- ALL0+

Memo: (We’ll start from where we finished scrambling, but you can start from any where you want)

M1: What “dr” has to do to get to “r” (in this case -4) PLUS (x2 rotation) what “U” has to do to get to “L” (in this case -2)

(-4) + (-2) = 6 (M1 is 6 (or F in letter version))

M2: (x2 rotation) (now we do the same memo as M1 but from this angle) - “DR” to “R” (in this case 6) PLUS (x2 rotation) “u” to “l” (in this case -2)

(+6) + (-2) = 6-2  = 4 (M2 is 4 or “D” in letter version)

M3: what “u” has to do to get to “c” (in this case 5) (M3 is Negative 5 or “5” in letter version)

M1: 6

M2: 4

M3: 5

Execution:

Starting from where you started memo:

1st Move: UL pin UP, With the UL pin you are going to match “c” to “d” to make a vertical “bar” - and with your right hand you are going to preform M1 on the Right side (aka: NOT the UL pin)

So execute 6

2nd Move: L pins UP, with the L pins you are going to match the “vertical bar” you just made with “r” - with your right hand, match the “dr” corner to the “L” edge block you just made at the bottom right (so preform (in this case 2) on the pins that are down)

3rd Move: x2 rotation and at the same time pushing the DR pin down (so UL DL and DR are up) so that after you do the x2 rotation, the DR pin is Up on the other side

Now, after you rotate you will notice that U and L are matching, use the DR pin to match C,to U and L (in this case +5) to make and “L” with the Edges, with your left hand, move the UL corner to match the “L” we just made to make a “2x2” block on the top left (aka use the pins that are down, so in this case preform -4)

4th Move: Same as 1st Move - UL pin up, match C to D, and preform M2 with your right hand (on the pins that are down) (in this case M2 was 4, so execute 4 with your right hand)

5th Move: L pins up, match up the bar ( well everything that is solved on the left side, btw the DL corner is matching on the Left side, this is just lucky, it can be not matching as well) to R (in this case 2)

With your right hand (on the pins that are down) match the DR corner to the whole “cross” that is solved now (aka just match it to the “L” block on the bottom right)

6th Move: UL DL and DR pins UP, with you right hand (On the pin that is down) preform M3 (in this case 5) , with your left hand (on the pins that are up) match the DL corner to the FINAL position of the UR corner

7th Move: use Backslash (UL and DR pins UP) and finish auf

It should be solved!!!!!!!

Hopefully this make sense 💀

After some research, as far as I understand, the main methods are
1) some kind of flip (many variants, including the beginner's method)
2) Sheerin (noflip)
3) 7 simul flip
4) 7 simul noflip (many variants)

Is Sheerin not a 7 simul? Also, do I feel it right that people tend to prefer 7 simul over Sheerin?

I'm mainly asking this because I just watched a tutorial on Sheerin and I immediately love it. It also requires to memorise only 4 numbers, because you start the solve with the 5th, so you don't really have to memorise it - this is not true for the 7 simul I watched a tutorial for, which is I think the bpaul variant. But I want to revisit that 7 simul tutorial, to make sure I understand it correctly. So far 7 simul looks slightly more (but not much) complicated that sheerin.

Theres 2 7-Simul variants, BPaul and Tommy. Its chosen over sheerin because it has less turns iirc, and the pin transitions are better. And Sheerin is no 7-simul as you dont get the clock in the solved state in 7 simultaneous moves.

@FineGeoduck2211 my PBs with your 3 letter 7sf method are:

4.28 single
4.86 mo3
5.11 ao5
5.92 ao12

this is actually a pretty good method ngl

edit: no way I just got sub 4 single

Generated By csTimer on 2025-04-13
single: 3.692

Time List:
1. 3.692 UR4+ DR3- DL1- UL5+ U1- R0+ D5+ L3+ ALL4+ y2 U1+ R3- D0+ L3+ ALL4+ @2025-04-13 18:44:00

Recon:
I called it cam 7sf bc of ur initials (Caleb Alonzo Martinez = CAM)
