Hi all,

I'm finally getting round to my introduction; been viewing the forum for a few weeks now. I used to be mad for puzzles in the early 80s and had quite a collection, but never managed to solve the cube on my own. Now I've rediscovered the habit, and it's becoming an addiction!

I use a beginner method and my PB is about 55s, but I'm picking up algs and am starting to learn Fridrich F2L; got about 6 cases down so far. I don't have a huge amount of free time to devote to cubing so I'm just doing it for fun really and to challenge myself. Will see where it goes in the next few months.

I also do 2x2x2, 4x4x4, 5x5x5 and 6x6x6 (very slowly!)

Anyhow, it's good to be here!

Welcome to the forums! You might want to give Intuitive F2L a shot.

Cheers...this is good stuff. Interesting to see the cases I *thought* I knew done differently too.

There's nothing wrong with memorising cases in the beginning.

Yeah I heard people talking about Intuitive F2L so spent a bit of time trying to figure it out without memorising a ton of algs. After a while I thought if I could memorise 6 cases ie the edge pair separated and in the same relative position * all possible orientations I could at least get the pieces to that position and so figure out a solution to any other case in the first instance.

Thanks to you all for your replies.
