Hope everyone is well! I'm Bryan. I learned the beginner method on a 3x3x3 cube about 6 years ago, then went on to learn the basics of the 2x2x2 cube, and the 3x3x3 pyraminx and megaminx. I was averaging somewhere around 45 seconds on the 3x3x3, but, long story short, I haven't had a cube for roughly 2 years until about a month ago. Since having another, I've learned the basic concepts of F2L and I got a YouTube suggestion that lead to me learning edges first. Beginner method, adding F2L, and edges first I'm currently averaging 1 minute to 1:10, (fastest I've gotten is just over 51 seconds). I've taken a pretty major interest in Roux now though. I'm slowly learning the CMLL algorithms, but I'm mostly focusing on building muscle memory and rhythm, so what I have memorized, I can't immediately connect with the situations they're used for. I joined to learn anything I can really, and help if there's ever anything I can contribute, but mostly, I'm having some trouble with 4c, and I haven't had any luck finding the answers. The highest number of possible cases I've been able to find is 6, but I've run into 2 versions of the same problem that don't seem to be covered, the top two edges in the right place but wrong direction and everything else correct, and opposite edges in the same predicament. I've spent several hours playing with M and U2 moves and I feel like I'm missing something obvious so it's taking a lot of effort not to get frustrated.

I'm going to keep scouring this forum and the rest of the internet but if anybody reads this and has the answer I love you already. Lol

Hey, welcome to the forum. What do u mean by "in the right place but wrong direction"? Do you mean its orientation is wrong? If so, I'm pretty sure you didn't orientate the edges correctly in 4a.
Opposite edges in the same predicament? I'm not so sure what that means, are you able to take a picture of such case and post it here?
Good luck with learning roux, and I hope your journey with the method is worthwhile for you, have a great day/night!

Apologies. Yes, orientation is wrong. It's usually edges in the same side, like UF and UB, or UF and DF (I'm new to piece titles as well, so, in case I'm not remembering correctly, top front and top back, or top front and bottom front), but by "opposite edges" I meant "opposing" edges, (UF and DB, or UB and DF) also in the correct position but with the wrong orientation.

What I understand of 4a is that, if solving with white and yellow on the top and bottom, all 6 edges must have their white or yellow sides on the top or bottom, but yellow sides can touch the white center and vice versa. If I am understanding that correctly, it's still definitely possible I didn't look well enough before moving on but the number of times I've come across these cases makes it seem really unlikely. I just scrambled it a few times so I could try to get one of the cases while paying more attention to 4a, and I have UF and DF in the correct position with the wrong orientation.

Thank you all for welcoming me!

Here's an example of my understanding of a complete 4a. Solving with green/ blue on the sides and white on the bottom.
