[Unofficial] Haiyan Zhuang 3x3 BLD 30.47

dang these guys are fast enough that they could do this mthod for a regular speed solve if they wanted to. they can memorize within the 15 seconds for inspection and execute fast enough to get a decent time.

@chicken9290,
Your question doesn't seem logical to me. An official WR is a WR, regardless if the person is associated with the WCA or not.
I disagree (and I think many others do). What's to stop me from declaring a new QQCA where scrambles are 8 moves long, averages of 5 are rolling, and anyone can compete in their own home without having to send proof of their times? I could set a "WR" in an "official" competition tomorrow.

@cmowia thats right sob it is a logical question
qqwref obviously didn't understand what I had in mind when I said "official." In that 30.__ WR video it didn't look like an "at home" record, and that scramble looked pretty legitimate.

@qqwref,
Based on Haiyan's record history at WCA, don't you think that after all of this time with him practicing, he could have gotten better? I definitely don't think a WR claim should be taken seriously if it is not recorded in the same manner as the WCA. How stupid do you think I am to justify "at home" official WRs? Please stop taking things to the extreme when you can try to at least keep things at a reasonable boundary.

Even if it was (we can't know), this wasn't done at a WCA-official competition, so it wouldn't be fair to count it. There have been many unofficial competitions before and those times were never counted, even though some of them were run very fairly.

That's not relevant; just because you have really good times at home does not mean you deserve an official record. I'm not suggesting he is incapable of this time, just that it shouldn't be counted as official.

I'm taking things to an extreme to point out why we don't automatically accept cubing organizations' records as fair and valid. (And you shouldn't fixate on the difference between "at home" and "competition", because if you tweak the structure of a competition it can be just as easy to get a good time as it is at home - there is really no difference.)

I do think there are reasons we should not trust and accept CCA records, and I think it's irrational to consider their competitions automatically official just because they have declared themselves to be a cubing organization. We trust the WCA because of years of deserving that trust. Think of it this way - has the community seen the CCA regulations, and have people attended and reported on CCA competitions? Do we have any way of being sure that certain competitors aren't being helped out?

Some reasons are listed at http://worldcubeassociation.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=885. Spoilered because of length.
While acknowledging the contributions to the Chinese cubing community, we find the behavior and actions of Haiyan Zhuang to be manipulative, selfish, and disruptive to the growth of cubing. We find that Haiyan Zhuang has violated the rules outlined by the IAC, rules 2k2, 2k3, 2k4, and 2k5.

Rule 2k2: Mr. Zhuang repeatedly lied to competition organizers and delegates with regard to competition planning. He made false claims about the number of rounds scheduled for WCA competitions in order to serve both his personal and financial interests at the expense of the competition as a whole.

Rule 2k3: Mr. Zhuang has repeatedly threatened physical violence against WCA delegates and competition organizers in an effort to coerce them into meeting his demands.

Rule 2k4: Mr. Zhuang caused a disruption at a WCA event with a tirade on the stage which distracted competitors from the event. His actions at competitons have been a distraction to delegates and organizers and hinder their ability to manage the competition.

Rule 2k5: Mr. Zhuang repeatedly refused the requests of the WCA delegates.
