Gan Enhanced Skewb with Gan Pyraminx GES Nuts

The GAN Enhanced was my main at one point even though I found it too loose even on the tightest settings and highest spring compression level. Then, I got myself an X-Man Wingy v1 for backup. Surprisingly, it replaced the GAN Enhanced as my main after I made it maglev.

However, I had a problem with my wingy v1 maglev that it catches quite a bit as the florian holes are not big enough like the the gan enhanced, that the corners sometimes catch against each other.
Then, I tried to improve my gan enhanced by making it have reasonable tensions. I first thought of adding washers under the original ges nuts with it, but I don’t have any washers that are big enough to fit into it. Then, I tried to look into the extra ges nuts that came with my gan 251 m pro and my gan enhanced pyraminx. Since the ges nuts of the gan 2x2 are quite a bit smaller which will make it even looser, I tried the ges nuts of the gan pyraminx on my gan enhanced skewb. I tried the yellow nuts that came with the gan pyraminx on my gan enhanced skewb since it is the strongest. This made my gan enhanced have a much more reasonable tensions even though it is still more on the looser side. Due to the additional stability from the stronger ges nuts, it is now a lot more controllable while remaining fast. After adding some heavy lube, it has become my main once again. This mod really makes the gan skewb a lot better and is very simple compared to making the wingy v1 maglev.

Interesting Mod! I probably won't do that even though I have the materials to do it because my preference is a loose fast skewb, but if I want to make it more controllable I will probably do this!

I have just done some solves on both of these (maglev wingy v1 and gan enhanced with gan pyraminx nut) and I found that I average the same on both of these, but the fun fact is that I have also done some solves on my old moyu aoyan and I actually average 0.1s better on the moyu than both of these modded skewbs. The catches on the wingy and the insane looseness on the GAN (its still quite loose even after the pyraminx nut mod) are really making them not performing as good my aoyan. Anyway, I have ordered a weilong maglev with professional setup, and I think it may become my new main.
