Fridrich or Roux?

The only intuitive step in CFOP is the cross, because even if you use intuitive F2L,it isn't really intuitive since there are only 42 cases which you solve the same way each time.Roux is definitely a more intuitive way to solve the cube, which makes it harder, but also more fun. It's a totally different method because you don't solve most of the cube using algorithms over and over again. It also seems fun starting to work your way through the cube by building blocks. Most cubers(including me:p) choose CFOP over Roux because it's easier, but in my opinion Roux>CFOP.

I think you should continue cuz the methods you have learned from the 2look OLL and 2look PLL will be wasted if you switch to Roux.. It's up to you, whatever you prefer. :)

I started with CFOP and had learned full PLL and some OLL when I switched to Roux. I feel like i didnt waste anything.

If you don't have a great work ethic and or enough time use CFOP. I'm transitioning into Roux and I can say without a doubt Roux takes a lot of time. But, you should just pick which ever you find more fun.

Yeah because there are about 17 algs for 4LLL, the two EO algs in 2LOLL are used in CMLL; all the 7 of the second look are all CMLLs too; your favourite one of the 2 A perms for second look of 2LPLL are CMLL cases where corners are already oriented. Even the first look of 2LPLL can be used in LSE.

So at maximum you've got 8 algs wasted. Is that really a lot?

zz is the best and its like fridrich without oll. i like fridrich better than roux because by using algs you dont really need to think and you can look ahead.

Again, I kindly request evidence/explanation for these claims- I think you're missing the whole point of ZZ- the reason why we bother to do EOLine in the first place.

Roux has greater potential because it's so unstructured, if you get what I mean. You have fewer limitations.

Well, there are benefits to both. I think we should give all of them a chance... methods don't have speeds... I agree though, those are benefits which come to my mind when I think of Roux method compared to ZZ.

So, my question is, basically.

Should I keep on using Fridrich, or should I swap to Roux?

I'm debating which is the best method, I know Donovan seems to like Roux quite a bit and the people who use it seem to like it quite a bit, plus it looks kinda cool, so yeah.

Thoughts?

They are both good methods. you can learn both, knowing alternative methods can improve your style with your main method.

between the two, i'd personally learn Roux if only because it forces you to learn block building better i feel than CFOP/Freidrich would, and understanding block building helps tremendously i feel if you were to do CFOP anyway

i certainly wish i knew block building better than i did when i switched to ZZ, in the end though, just do wahtever you end up enjoying, it's all fun anyway
