I think EG beats them all, if you have time to learn the approx 120 algos = about 3 months and then practice it enough so you can recognise all cases fast = another 3 months or so...

Give it a year and you are one of the fastest 2x2x2 solvers in the wold

Seriously don't, use the time to practice 3x3x3 instead and learn Ortega or Guimond for the 2x2x2, those methods are fast enough for most people.
