Hey, this topic's all about some of the "drils" that u might have learned/invented. I think a lot of people have been doing a lot of this, but I practise trying to do 2 or 3 pairs in 1 look. Inspect, and close your eyes, do the 2 pairs, and see if u did it correctly.

The point of this drill is to be able to know how the algos affect the other pieces, and also so that u don't have to think about the current pair, but rather concentrate on the next pair.

The common ones (probably done when Beginning F2L) is when u look at one pair, and then do it while ur eyes are closed. That one is only is the first portion (doing the current F2L pairs without thinking)of the drill I described b4.

anyway plz post some more "drills" that u cubers do!

I do simple cross drills (inspect, then solve cross with eyes closed). It's not F2L, per se, but it's close enough. These obviously encourage lower move counts and faster crosses, but can also double as good hand warm-ups.

I need to work on those. Right now, I am trying to get a solid transition from cross to F2L, and "drill" from the last move of the cross to the first pair on the second layer. I may practice that with my eyes shut.

...

For the past 7 months I've been thinking you use Roux.

haha, nope. I have been Fridrich since the day I started. I have solved a little bit with Roux, but I am nothing spectacular with it. I want to master Fridrich first.

I always try to see if I can get Petrus Steps 1 and 2 done on one look.

Anything else?

Nathan told me about his old F2L drill...turn the cube like a beginner (with the wrist...), and still try to sub 12. You might want to watch Chris's 17 seconds video and see his cross...that's what he meant by the beginner's turning.
