Does this 4x4 seem broken?

So I took apart my 4x4 since it kept jamming and wouldn't turn on one side, and I found a piece that looks like it partially broke. Does this piece actually affect turning or was something else wrong? Here's a pic:

I honestly don't know, have you tried putting the 4x4 back?

I was trying to put it back together but was struggling (nothing to do with the possibly broken piece, I just couldn't do it lol) and didn't want to take the time to put it back together if it was broken. I ended up ordering an MGC though, but wasn't sure if I should even try to put the possibly broken 4x4 back together.

If it looks the same as the other center stalks, it's probably fine. If it doesn't, it's probably broken. The centre stalks should also be fixed, not twistable.

Yeah I should've taken another picture when I wasn't trying to put it together lol. It seems like there is a crack in the black cover part that isn't present on any of the other ones, so it must have snapped somehow. Thanks for your help!
