On a 5 mover!

avg of 5: 1.83

Time List:
1. (0.53) F2 R2 F2 R F' U R F2 R'
2. (6.26) R U' R U' F2 R U' R' F2
3. 2.38 U2 F2 R' F' U' R F2 U2 R2
4. 0.69 U R F2 U R' U2 F' U' F'
5. 2.43 R2 U2 F R' F2 R F2 R' U2

Counting 0.69! I got two 5 moves in a single average lol

I believe the chance of that happening is 1/13690? Could be wrong though
I calculated it myself and I got the number the 1/289268

Here is what I did:

There are 2790 positions that are 5 move optimal or less or less out of the 3674006 possible scrambles that cstimer can generate (The number is less than the number of 2x2 positions because cstimer doesn't generate scrambles that have less than a 4 move optimal solution.)

I got two 5 movers in 4 attempts, and using a binomial distribution calculator the odds of getting greater than one 5 mover in 4 attempts is approximately 3.457x10^-6 or 1/289268 chances of getting more than one 5 mover in 4 solves

I did the same thing for the odds of getting more than one scramble that is 5 move optimal or less in an average of 5 and I got 1/173673

Pretty lucky either way.

What is the chance of two five movers in a row ?

Ok, so here is how day 1 of the comp went for me

In 5x5 I thought I wouldn’t make cutoff but I made it by less than a second! I was super happy that I made cutoff as it was a really difficult cutoff for me. I proceeded to get PR average too!

Then, in 3BLD I triple DNFed. I’m very bad at 3BLD so I am not upset at all regarding the DNF’s.

Then in clock, I got a DNF average :(

Then in 6x6 I failed cutoff and failed to beat my horrible PR because I got two center cap pops and had horrible lookahead.

Then in 7x7 I got a 7:31.21 solve.

2x2 is first thing tomorrow morning so I am hoping for good results there.

I won! There were two no-bars so I am very happy with this average!

I have a comp tomorrow, so here are my goals:

First off, I want to keep my PR streak. This comp's list of events is going to make this a difficult task for me, but nonetheless I think I can keep it.

For 2x2, I want to break sub-2 for average.
For 3x3, my goal is to get a sub-9 single. I am very close with a 9.08 and a 9.16. I also want to make finals in this comp.OH
For 4x4, I want a PR single. My PR single is terrible, and it is by far my worst ranking.
For OH, I want to make finals and get a PR single. I probably need some kind of skip to get a PR single though.
For pyraminx, my goal is to get PR average.
