No definitely not, I like the ZhangChi better than the GuHong in fact. I just prefer the LunHui. My LingYun has come back from the dead after a recent relube btw. It's giving my LunHui a hard time keeping its spot as my favorite cube.

The LunHui prototype was followed by the production model in what, 1 and a half months? The ZhangChi prototype came out "ages" ago but the designer is still not happy enough with the cube to release his final version. He wants it to be a lot better than the LunHui I guess. A matter of honor because he didn't design the LunHui maybe? All speculation on my part of course ;o)

Well, he also had to delay the release of the ZhanChi because he wanted to add something. It was supposed to come out end march/early april IIRC. Icubemart had a video saying it anyway.

Does anybody know if the transparent prototype ZhangChi are from the same mold as the first ones?
 
I've had the transparent ZhanChi for a few days now, I am not going to mod it at all as it is a prototype and I don't really want to turn it too much as it's the clear plastic that model aircraft canopys are made from and it will scratch, but I have lubixed it and played with it a bit. I love it, I don't have one of the older ones to compare it to, but if the production one is as good or better it will be my new main cube. It has a tiny bit of locking to it, but like I said, no mods and no breaking in, so to be expected. With a tiny bit of lubix it came alive, I had to force myself to stop and put it back in it's purple box. The wait for the production model is going to feel like forever now.

Exactly. And transparent plastic would be much more brittle and harder as far as I see it. Which would make for a different feel. Does anyone have a pigmented C-III and a transparent one? Same would go for a standard coloured or transparent LingYun. I only have coloured verions of both cubes so I can't compare any of them to a transparent cube :(
 
One big reason why I think the Zhanchi is not released yet is because of marketing strategies, they don't want to release the Lunhui and Zhanchi at the same time, because some people would only buy the latest one.

If they release them a couple months apart, then there's a better chance of people buying both, seperately, and thus getting more sales.

P.S., That's not just something I made up either, I have contacts ;)

Ya its more harder plastic because it is pc instead of the abs
 
I got to try this cube out at Kansas this weekend, and it was incredible! Besides just feeling silky smooth, it is a little heavier than my Lingyun, which makes it even more awesome for oh.
