I don't know if this is true, but according to the Reddit post about DailyPuzzles closing, comments linking to what is supposedly Billy's reddit account and saying it shows some very sketchy financials and how he was supposedly using business funds for gambling and stock trading. A comment by him trying to say his current situation isn't because of the gambling and stock trading got downvoted.

Honestly, with how SCS is starting to buy new warehouses and buying other cube stores, I wouldn’t be surprised if SCS bought daily puzzles and rebranded it to SCS Australia or something.

Not true. Max Park has a contract with Rubik's (or did, not sure he still does) and wasn't required to use their cubes.

I doubt they would do that simply because of all the debt, if it wasn't for all the debt then Billy could quietly sell up but now any business buying them out would also be taking on hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt

I was kind of ignorant to the announcement and the youtube video, all I cared about was that there was a Canadian warehouse lol. Now I get two business day shipping and it costs way less

Isn't it already? SCS has bigger youcubers (souptimmy & jperm) while the cubicle has the wr holders (max park & tymon kolasinski). More people buy from the cubicle (according to scs vs cubicle threads I've seen) but scs is the one expanding to other countries and buying other stores like Cancube
