When you inspect the cube for the cross(for speedcubers preferably below 18 average), you see the whole cross and then when executing, you do the cross with your hands and look at the top for F2L the WHOLE time?

I can always see the whole cross, and can execute it without thinking too much. I usually like to look for a corner that looks like it will end up in the top layer, and follow that through the cross, and sometimes I will look at the edge that it goes with too.

Okay so you guys are basically doing the cross without looking at the cross, and finding a corner piece or just first pair. I usually execute the cross and look at it for 85% of the execution...maybe I should practice cross BLD. :)

im about 18... I try to find entire cross. If its easy, ill spend a little extra time finding the first corner or something. If its moderately hard, ill plan out most of the cross, and then try to track some corner as i finish the cross. If its hard and long, ill plan out as much as im patient to plan out, and go from there. Most of my bad times then come from hard crosses and bad luck...
oh and i do cross on top at least 80% of time. I find it must easier because the U/U' turns are so fast! Maybe its just a matter of practice.

Hmm... I guess I don't have to change either. For anyone who wants to, I just figured out that using turns instead of [D] works a lot better for inserting pieces. I'm still going to do cross on w/e side though.

hmmm... i do the cross anywhere, bottom, left, top, wherever find it easy to execute. normally, i can plan 3 only cross pieces at a time coz i'm not that good at inspection, but when the case is easy, i get to do all 4 plus a corner-edge pair...
