Has anybody publicly combined CFOP and Roux? I did, and it follows the main aspects of the method.
Make the two blocks
Solve the bottom edges with M U moves
OLL
PLL

If anyone can find if someone else has publicly done this it would be great because I want to know if I am the only one to do this (and if I am, the stupidest one lol)

We just had someone post this last week lmao.
This gets reinvented every 4 business days.

Both methods have been around for over a decade, people try to combine them, blah blah blah boring speech.

TLDR on why it sucks is that you lose out on efficiency compared to Roux, and have worse TPS and lookahead compared to CFOP.

I proposed that once, and that thread is deleted

Combining CFOP with Roux is basically combining the worst aspects of both methods.

F2L is the best step of CFOP. Very ergonomic because you have a lot of "up and down" patterns like R U R'. It allows you to minimize regrips.

LSE is the best step of Roux because it's so efficient.

that's literally how I have been solving for the better part of 3yrs...
I started out learning Roux but realized most of the CMLL set that I knew were OLLs and PLLs (I know about ½+ of either one ha) and there's a lot more resources out there for CFOP
so I do FB > SB > then use O/PLL to get the top face and my corners oriented and permuted then finish with LSE 😜

Haha I saw that also 😜

Both the Roux method (named after its inventor French mathematician Gilles Roux) and the Fridrich method (named after its inventor American mathematician Jessica Fridrich) have been around since the 1990s...
Both of them used their respective methods in competitions wayyy back in the dayyy (only they used almost all wrist turns... weird)

I mean I guess you can use 3x3 PLL with the low chance that you get it as an LSE case, but the odds of that occuring are (if I calculated correctly) one in 960.

I know nobody asked, but I got 960 by doing this: (6*5*4*3*1*1)(2*2*2*2*2*1)/(4*3*1*1)

I use an OLL (or 2 lol) to get all white/yellow on to and then I use J-,T-, or F-perm to permute cornera for adjqcent swap and either Y- or V-perm for diagonal swap then solve the last 2/4/6 edges

I don't see 960 as being applicable...

Which alternate reality did you come from and do you need help getting back there?
