I am generating a list of LUR, 2-gen, or commonly used OLL(By commonly used I mean I know and use them lol) COLL's. Do you guys think this will be useful or anyone interested in getting a copy of the list?
Although I have learned using an F or B every once in awhile isn't always slower than those types of algs, I am still generating the list and will later test which one i like better and how it compares to the OLL + PLL version.
Edit:
All COLL cases (all but the sune and anti sune cases I have memorized and they are the final ones I am sticking with) and all my PLL's are up and then like 3 VHF2L algs.
I really like them. I can do most COLL's at the same speed as a PLL all sub-4 and some sub-3 with practice possible sub-2 on a few. No I just need fluent VHF2L algs.. too bad edges can't be oriented with LUR algs...

Yeah, I would like to see that list and compare those algs with mine. I definitely think COLL is worth learning. My COLL/EPLL is actually faster than my OLL/PLL by about one second. The Sune cases are pretty good too, I would recommend at least checking them out.

Well I have found some cannot be solved with LUR algs without more than 14 moves. Anymore than that and it takes my computer hours to days to find. I have searched for 20 moves before and it took over 2 days.
This is exam week for me but I should have the list by the end of next week maximum but most likely the next couple days.
If you do check them out I'd like to hear what you think about them.

Hi Jason,

I only ask because I find this very interesting, do these averages with COLL include the 1/12 chance for the EPLL skip? Also have you done a weighted average with your time to execute each alg based on the probability of occurence of each one? I would find that very interesting, as there are some COLLs I have abandoned in favor of OLL/PLL, but if I can just find a faster COLL alg for those cases I would rather switch back if it is faster on average ;-)

Chris

Lofty- those algs look pretty good. I think there is a mistake on the fifth sune case. It's the same alg as the fifth anti-sune case. Also, for the second T case, the second move should be U' (not U). Here's another LUR alg for that case if you're interested: R U2 R' U L U' R U L2 U R' U' L. Either alg flows pretty well with one hand. Also check out this alg for the fifth anti-sune case: R' U' R U' R' U R' D' R U R' D R2. I know it's RUD instead of LUR, but that case is one of my favorite COLLs, and it also flows pretty well one handed. Everything looks good though, I use a large amount of the same algs.

Chris: My LL averages are all done using the program "LLTrainer". You can specify what kind of scrambles it will give you- Fridrich or COLL/ZBLL, and it keeps stats on both types of scrambles. Ususally my Fridrich averages are right around 5 seconds, and my COLL averages are like 4.2-4.3, and I usually will discard the solve if I have a skip (unless it is a ZB case that I know). I have not done a weighted average with COLL, but it sounds like a cool idea. There are really only 3 or 4 COLLs that I really don't like. The one U case where the ULB/URB stickers are the same and the FUL/FUR stickers are the same is a bad one, and a couple of the Air Jeff cases are bad, but other than that the rest of my COLLs are pretty solid. The biggest advantage COLL/PLL has is that you are always guaranteed an easy PLL. Almost all the time you can see what your PLL will be before you finish the COLL, and sometimes you can combine the two steps using fingertricks so the entire LL is one fluid, fast motion. One of my biggest annoyances with OLL/PLL is sometimes you have that awkward pause when transitioning from one to the other. You might have to look around the cube a bit to recognize the case, or even worse, you recognize the case right away but the two algs do not flow together at all, so you have to regrip or whatever to start the PLL. With COLL/PLL, you are virtually always guaranteed a LL with easy recognition and a smooth transition between the two steps. That's why I like COLL/PLL as opposed to OLL/PLL. With ZBF2L it's even better ;)

Thanks Jason! I actually haven't performed most of these and certainly haven't memorized them. This is pretty much a rough draft. If any aren't good I'll look for different ones like I have for PLL. Yea the second T one I actually found myself with finishing the case I already used then.
I don't really plan on going full ZB so I don't think I will use these 100% of the time but we will see.
You once told me on facebook you would send me a list of your algs... I'll test all my algs over this Christmas break. Then I will have more time over break to look for other algs.

Ahh crap, sorry about that. I completely forgot. I'm working on creating the images now, and I'll probably have the algs done later today. I'll let you know.

By the way, there should be a U in front of your first Sune case, and the first Pi alg should be this: [U'] L' U R U' L U' R' U' R U' R'

Its kool dude. I ended up getting away from memorizing COLL shortly after that. I got up to the sune cases and stopped. Thanks for the help editing! I thought i had double checked most of them but I guess I'll do that soon. Over the break I'm going to change my images to ones made with ImageCube to match the ones I made for PLL.

Thanks Jason.
I have been studying like mad for my two exams tomorrow morning and just throwing up the algs when i took breaks from studying. I'll actually play with all the algs i generated then instead of just throw them in a table.

Haha, caught another error.

Fifth Pi case: R' U2 R U R' U R2 U' L' U R' U' L

I'm almost done with my COLL document. Can you PM me your e-mail address so I can send it to you when it's done? I can send it to anybody else that wants it too.

edit: Okay, I'm done with the document. Anybody that wants to see it, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Hehe, all the good ones exept one I already use :D

For the second last of the pi cases I use R U2 R' U' R U R' U2 L' U R U' M' But I think the Sune-Niklas combo at the site is intresting, I alredy know the two algs it is built from so I learned right away :)

Edit: I think the alg is nicer like this: R U2 R' U' R U' R2 U L U' R U L' then the Sune and Niklas are done from the side I'm used to and not "from the backside of the cube".

The side it is on now is the side I am used to :-)
I guess I do it backwards.
Edit: Grrr... I hate when website don't have printable pages... oh wait thats my site...
maybe I will do that next now that I have all COLL and PLL online.
Edit2: I have gone over all the algs on the page, I found one error and repaired it. In the process of repairing I cut out 2 quarter turns :-)
Edit 3: I just realized when you copy/paste my algs into a word document the table format is retained. Delete the comment box turn to landscape and set two columns and I Have two cases per page. Also I changed one or two algs to make an inverse more clear.

Alrighty, I am fairly certain I am done making any changes to my list of algs. I have added a few that Jason gave me and tried to make sure the cases are exact mirrors/inverses for ease of memorizing and plus if one is fastest its mirror/inverse should be fastest.
Just the Sune/anti sune cases left to memorize then a little while on LLtrainer to get them cemented in my brain then time to start on zbf2l!
