hi everyone =)

i've been learning roux for about two weeks and i have difficulties in building the 2 1x2x3 blocks.
the 'block building tricks' by lars petrus were quite informative, but i cant get out of the habit of
doing the blocks 'f2l-style' (building half of a cross on bottom and filling up the 4 f2l-slots) although
i should know better :(
shouldn't be building 2 1x2x3 blocks be faster and easier than fridrich f2l due to the moveable M layer?
for the last two weeks i have practiced roux several hours everyday and i'm still slightly faster with a
fridrich f2l & 4look-LL although i never really practiced it. looks like i dont get what block building is about... at all

i'm looking for general advice at block building, not for someone telling me to sophisticate my noobish 4 look LL fridrich :D

:) any constructive comment is highly appreciated :)

thanks pjk, but i already know this tutorial. btw he also has tutorial videos on each roux step which helped me understand the method.
i tried to pm him but he won't answer :(

i think the main problem i have is building the second block due to the move restriction, i keep messing up the first block when i try a fancy (faster) way of building the second block, or it takes me like 20 seconds without breaking the first 'holy block'. my average is about 75 seconds where it takes me like 50 seconds only for the first two blocks (sadly not kidding) -.-"
i'm gonna try solving the blocks _very_ slowly with breaking up the holy block and hopefully not messing up. going slowly seems to be THE rule for every method i guess.

my god, 2/3 the time of the actual solve just for building two blocks, i really suck at this step :D

just did that, we'll see if he answers my questions. which by now seem rather trivial, only concerning algorithms he performed too fast for me to follow through :D
