First time on this forum I think. Started cubing in 2013.. coworker had an orig Rubik's that he sprayed with brake fluid or something to make it not extra suck. I googled and saw this Dayan Zhanchi thingy and ordered a bunch. Maybe 8 people started cubing at the office. Great times.

I learned 4LLL and settled with that. Then slowly started solving less.. eventually there was probably 2 years where didn't solve at all. About a month ago tried to solve and couldn't do it... had to look up the algos. Then looked up cubes and was like holy dang there are magnets now? And now I've bought close to 15 cubes since.

Been moving to 4x4 and 5x5... about the get a 6x6 and 7x7.

So hello everyone... glad to see cubing is so alive.

Welcome to the forums, and welcome back to cubing!

Welcome back! What puzzles can you solve?

When I was a kid I enjoyed wooden puzzles and things like the hanayama puzzles.. but prob since I started cubing I haven't done much else.

I only did 3x3 until I just picked it back up. A friend at the time was like.. screw 4x4 and 5x5.. its got weird parity algorithms and 3x3 is good enough for me.

But I ordered 4x4 and think I should never have listened to him. Now I've got 5x5 memorized and waiting on a 6x6 and 7x7 to arrive in the mail.

Of course.. I think back in 2013 higher-order cubes were not all that great in terms of quality.. but could be wrong as I didnt try them then.

I don't think that its bad to buy a lot of cubes, just make sure that it doesn't eat into the money for food and maintenance :).

Yeah.. I enjoy buying a bunch. In 2013 i had maybe 15 cubes all bought in a few months. Had the Weilong II, Aolong II, Aurora, ShuangRen, Zhanchi, Yulong and others. Gave almost all of them to aspiring cubers in the office.. and in recent times could only find one of my orig cubes (the Weilong II).

So when I randomly found out magnets were in the mix nowadays started a new buying spree.

I even ordered an Aolong II and a Yulong for old times sake.. and man.. they just feel gross and loose now. Dont wanna play with anything non-magnetic now lol.

Good Luck! Which method are you using for big cubes?

Im using more or less the beginner's method. Wanted to memorize solving them fully before making faster. JPerm's 4x4 vid went straight to Yau and I felt that made it more confusing to get the basic algos down. I understand how it works as well as 3-2-3 pairing but will circle back to those later.

I am using free slice for 5x5 though. My 6x6 and 7x7 arrive today.

3-2-3 is not hard but it will take a bit of getting used to. Personally, I don't throw myself at it so my advice would be to do as much as your brain will take, so that you don't overload it

Got back into cubing.. these are my mains. Top row Weilong WRM 2020, 11 M Pro, RS3M 2020, MGC. Bottom row Aosu, MGC, MGC, MGC, MGC. Gear cube for lulz.

3x3 obviously not decided... 4x4 was main cube that I did a solid comparison of other brands/models. Have a 5x5 Valk but was too stiff for my taste. Also have an 8x8 and 9x9 in the mail.. went with Meilong mainly for price/performance.
