Do you guys have any cubing friends that can potentially break WR's but don't go out and compete?
I just wanted to get a feel for the cubing community that doesn't go out and compete as I know there are many cubers that are fast but either don't want to or can't compete.

Just a Question......

Thanks :)

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that there are currently no cubers in the world, with a reasonably high chance of breaking a WR, who are not already competing.

Except for your cousin's sons friend who can do it in, like, 5 seconds.

EDIT: The only counter example I can think of was nicolas naing who's good at mega, who could sub WR at home and eventually got the single. But that's about it

It also depends on your definition of world class. If you mean top-100 or whatever then there is a possibility but it's very unlikely. I think I might be one of the faster ones who has not yet gone to a comp but I'm definitely an outlier (cubing for almost 2 years and still haven't gotten around to going to a comp) and still wouldn't consider myself to be world class so at least in the most common events like the smaller cubics and stuff I would say it is very unlikely though maybe in the less popular ones there could be.

By the time I went to my first comp, I had been cubing for 2 years and 8 months :P
But yeah I was nowhere near world class too.

There's a sub-20 cuber at my school who I just can't convince to attend a competition.
Wish he would though

Come on, world class is ~sub8 or better, definitely not sub20.

I know 2 cases like this, Sameer Mahmood and Nicolas Naing. Sameer got first ever sub2 2x2 average on his 1st comp and Nicolas got NAR and WR in Megaminx respectively on his 2nd and 3rd competion. Feliks also got 3x3 WR at his 2nd comp, but I think it doesn't count, since it was really long time ago

I wasn't saying he is world class, it was just an anecdote. Felt it was related enough to post here.

also both the people you mentioned were already acknowledged here

Thought of another possibility. Attila Horvath could conceivably get an FMC WR mean, but since he usually takes more than an hour to get those crazy results, it's unlikely.

Also, he technically has competed a fair amount.
