I got a DIY 3x3x3 and a 5x5x5. I figured out centers on the 5x5x5 in 2 hours and with the help of one algo hint I figured out edge swaps and parity fixes, minor parity i guess since its a 5x5x5. It's so much harder than the 3x3x3, but as I play with the 3x3x3 I don't know why i couldn't figure that one out on my own. I love puzzles. Oh and I got a book about Group theory, its about cubes and cubes of nth degree. Very cool looking.

I didn't, but say many people that did. For the 5x5, work on doing it on intuition. Solving the centers is pretty much all intuition. The way I pair edges is by doing "two at a time" like on the 4x4. Fixing the flipped edges is 2 simple algs, one of which is a 4x4 parity alg. Finally, solve like a 3x3.

I got me a 4x4x4. I solved it pretty easily the first 3 times because I came up with a nice, simple 3-cycle for pairing dedges. On the 4th solve, I ran into a parity, though. I learned the parity algorithms pretty easily.

In any case, the 4x4 is really, really fun.
