But I feel the puzzle is too niche to call it a proper WB.

I doubt anyone else would try to better this anytime soon.

Also only a few people have bought a 5x5 Hanoiminx and even fewer of them have decided to speedsolve it yo.

If it's too niche to be a proper WB it's probably too niche to deserve a thread

Both threads can exist, a 3 second official solve holds more merit and value.

Then why did you decide earlier that it was necessary to merge that thread into a different one? You seem to be contradicting yourself.

It is because the general protocol is that we have a separate thread for high ranking solves and NR solves. It is hard to define exceptions for them.
