Duo angles = awesome.

(3.44), 3.70, 4.68, (7.58), 4.03 = 4.14 Official Skewb Average!

Awesome average. I can see much improvement ahead of me because these scrambles weren't very easy. Every layer was pretty annoying. Also, I locked up a little. I think I could easily sub-4! Other than those things, I'm really happy that I managed these on my first round ever with my ShengShou skewb.

3rd in the midwest. xD

I know it's getting a bit off topic but I usually just wear thick gloves and keep them on before I have to start each solve (I mean start the inspecting for the solve).

I remeber when I was judging you at the UKC, and you had those gloves on, and I was confused, thinking that you were about to do 5x5 with gloves on.
That should be an event 3x3 WG

That clapping is annoying to watch. Other than that, good job on your solves.

I don't really understand the clapping thing either. By the looks of it, you're not increasing blood flow to your hands or exercising the important muscles at all. You could much more effectively wear gloves or just wiggle your fingers a bit before inspecting, without distracting other competitors by drawing unnecessary attention to yourself.

But good average :)

Your pickup is gj. Why do you still do the inspection thing? Did i inspire you to do it? If so, sorry everyone.

It's more of a habit for skewb, lol. And I dont think anybody was distracted. People would be way more distracted by reactions I have had in previous years. (indiana 2013 5x5)

I have a witness who told me the opposite.

Seriously didn't mean to do that, obviously. The reason I started doing this was for the placebo effect. It's actually proven that doing things that don't help but in my head I think help actually will help me. So, I just did this because I got a good time the first time that it was done. But mainly for skewb only, because it only has ever worked for skewb for me. Now, it's a plain old habit during the event.

That is not a justification to distract other competitors. Also by that logic you can choose a better, less distracting "placebo effect" to use in the future.
