It's nearing the end of the year and a lot of things have happened this year in terms of wrs, new cubes, etc. What is everyone's opinion on 2017? Did it go well for you? Did unexpected things happen with your times?

Finished learning ZBLL, still learning the last OH variants of the last ALGs, but finally, I'm making progress again. Made some crazy TH PBs in comp, and finally, even if just barely, broke my 2 and a half year standing OH avg. Nice progress in Pyraminx, even though there's still much more to learn.

All in All, I'm looking extremely optimistic towards 2018 - As soon as my ZBLLs are all well drilled, progress for 3x3 and OH is really gonna come in, and I can focus my time on finally finishing OLL for 4x4 or learning some algs for 2x2...

Does anyone think that 2017 was a big year of WR contenders for a lot of really popular events?

@Faz hangs on, but he had to take back a lot of WRs this year. I'm not saying that I hope he loses a lot of his WRs right away, but still, it's more interesting this way.

The good: got a few seconds faster on 3×3×3, had a handful of sub-10 singles, broke the 1:00 and 2:00 barriers for 444 and 555, got okay official averages for some events.
The bad: DNF mean for FMC (when there are so few comps around here…), was super awkward at comps, spent hundreds of dollars on cubes, still terrible at BLD.

The year's had its ups and downs for me, but cubing-wise I think it was mostly okay. (other than the being super awkward part)

As I said in the new year's resolution thread I failed most of my goals for a few reasons, partly that I didn't cube much. Still improved in every event but maybe not as much as if I had practiced more.

A WR is pretty nice, even if it's not the one I wanted. My average is still bad because the scrambles were a million times worse this year. Also I didn't win Worlds (they should've cancelled round 3 tbh)

Feet single peaked at 71st in the world
Average peaked at something like 110, and I got sub1 after 2 failed means

3x3 had a 1 good average and a couple nice singles
Had fun at comps
Nemesis count from 40something to 8 and then up to 9 when drl got good Feet results

I'm pretty happy with 2017, though I didn't actually practice a whole lot

Will have to work on that

I got my first sub-15 Ao100 in 3x3, and first sub-5 Ao100 for Pyra. Also, I improved a lot in 4x4 (first Solve under 1 minute last month, and an average under 1 minute, too.)
