2 look cuber

Erik posted a video doing a sub-20 average using a 4 look last layer... but also without using F2L... so if you're using F2L sub-15 should be possible. It's definitely possible to be fast with 2 look OLL, but I'd really recommend learning all the PLL's, they're not that difficult and will make a good difference to your times.

(also, YAY for another Scottish cuber :) )

If you want my advice, don't try to get very fast with 2-look. Learn PLL as soon as you're able, and then OLL. You'll thank me later.

Whoa...we agree on something!

QQ is completely right though. Once you get "real fast" with 2 Look (real fast as in sub2 because EO is sub1, and all OCLL's are sub1), you'll quite a recognition hit, especially for OLL (since there are 57 of them).

I agree with qqwref as well, it's best you learn at least full PLL and work on learning the OLL's. Otherwise you'll be so used to 2-look and trust me, it's easier to build new habits than to break old ones (imo anyway) and fast recognition takes time to develop.

From my point of view, once your around 25-30 seconds you should be starting on full PLL if you havn't already. OLL just takes time. Like the speedsolving wiki says, learn them at a steady pace.

I would also agree to begin learning 1-look ASAP. Especially PLL, as EO+OCLL is not considerably slower than OLL (maybe 1 second at its fastest), and OLL recognition is much easier to pick up from EO+OCLL than going from 2-look PLL to 1-look PLL, as recognition changes dramatically going between those two. I would say that a good time to begin learning full PLL is around 40-45 seconds.

I used F2L 2-Look OLL an not 2-Look PLL, only that I used from 2-Look PLL: H Perm, U Perm A and B and Z Perm.
And my record with that is 26.67 seconds. Before I know the F2L my personal record was 32.40.
I used then only F2L 27.
Before any F2L my personal record was 32.80.
