Thanks! The newer versions have the 'normal' color scheme. The older ones have the Japanese color scheme which is when the yellow and blue are switched.

Hi! I bought a Dayan Zhanchi about a year ago, and my friends recently got theirs as well (like within the past few days). Upon inspection, I noticed that their center caps were different and the Dayan Logo was inscribed on the inside. Other than that, I noticed no difference in the pieces. Also, my friends' new, unbroken cubes did feel like what I remembered when I firse unboxed mine. Mine generally feels sluggish in turning and the M slices seem tight, but theirs worked great even though the tensions were even tighter. Also, I did lube mine with Weight 4 Assorted Silicon Lube from The Cubicle, if that makes any difference.
At first, I thought mine was a counterfeit, but then I wondered if it was an original plastic Zhanchi and the differences were because of slight adjustments to the molds.
Here are some pictures of my Zhanchi. I restickered it and made my own Dayan Logo Sticker for the white center piece. It is a bit worn since it's been my only speedcube for a year.
Still no replies.I've compared the other pieces and they're identical, and I was wondering if the center caps came from another cube. If that's the case, then it's possible that my cube is legit and I just need new center caps. Here's a picture

Original shipped piece on left, NEW shipped piece on the right.
I ordered supposedly a DIY GuHong v2 from the Cubicle, and they sent me 1 Zhanchi edge piece, so I had them replace it, the replacement piece came in today and... it doesn't fit.
I compared the NEW piece that I received to a stickerless GuHong V2 that I already had, and it seems to be the same, and fits/works with the stickerless cube.
The original set that I recieved seemed very similar to my stickerless GuHong V2 that I have, except it was a little more rounded near the core, which I tried to show in the picture.
That leaves the question, what pieces did I actually get? Also, the edge pieces that I originally received fit together with a ZhanChi, but do not have the wings on the side like a ZhanChi.
Those are the only 3x3 pieces that I have to compare it to.
I would really like to know what pieces I got before I go back to the Cubicle with what will hopefully be my final new piece request.
The Cubicle said:Thanks for the picture, and sorry to hear about the issue. This is very strange to us too -- we compared a few of the pieces that we have and it appears that the GuHong V2 design has been changed by the manufacturer. The replacement half-edge we sent was the original GuHong V2 piece, but the DIY Kit that you received was for the new GuHong V2. We weren't aware of this change, but DaYan has been making changes to many of its cubes recently without letting anyone know -- including the ZhanChi -- so we think this change happened just in the last few weeks and it went unannounced.
In any case, we'll do some more research on the issue, and if confirmed, we will re-send the new GuHong V2 half-edge to you. Again, sorry about the problem -- unfortunately, there was just little way we could have known the design had been changed.
Hope this helps resolve the issue!
Sent basically the same stuff to the Cubicle, and got this in response just now.
