Help With Intituive F2L

No my PLL is NOW 18s i wnat to bring it down with Full PLL. Memorising them is simple enough, but what about recognising them real fast? Badmephisto doesn't really touch on that

For me, recognition came with enough practice. Visualize where each piece should go and adjust the upper face if needed before execution. You can't recognise the PLL case from just one side. Eg, if all pieces are permuted but 4 corners, it must be an E perm. I'm not an expert, so I actually suggest taking some time to read this guide http://cubefreak.net/PLL.html thoroughly, if you haven't. Well, at least this worked for me. Hope I've helped, do keep us notified of progress :)

hmm..after cubing for a few days or weeks, u should be able to recognize all the cases faster... try using special methods on how to recognize the case..

for me, I don't need to look at all faces to see where the pieces go, I just have to look one face of the cube and I already know the case.. try doing some research on how the case look like from each single angle..then soon u will come up with a solution on how to recognize the case by just looking at 2~3 stickers.. =)

so i suppose its just like F2L, you just have to be patient and get used to it. Oh, and i keep forgetting the PLLs that ive just learnt. any special way to memorise them?

My F2L is great now, average 16.77s. My main concern is PLL, where my timings get about 18s++. So I need to learn Full PLL

Do you mean that F2L takes you 16.77 seconds on average and that just PLL takes you more than 18 seconds?

His sig says his total is about 50 sec, so apparently 16.77 sec for F2L, 15 sec for OLL, 18 sec for PLL.

if it is true... I think he spent most of his time training his f2l...:p

I think he learned all PLL's to fast and now has a hard time recognising them. If you use a 2 look PLL it is almost impossible to take so long because recognition is easier.

Yeah its normal... kinda weird that something that is suppose to make you faster makes you so slow. Its all about practice and recognition. Since u kinda started f2l practice looking ahead so you dont need to develop that skill later like i have to >.>

Beginners method:45s

Beginner f2l:55-60

Present with 2 look Oll and half Pll memorzied:25-30s

I dropped my times by a good 10 seconds in about a week when I learned all the pll's and 7 oll's (Petrus =]) Also I really think people are going for speed methods way to quick. I got a 27 PB on a friggin tutorial i found on rubiks.com. Really, I averaged like 40 seconds. Now if I went Friedrich I'd be really fast right now, cause then it would have built on that! Instead I did Petrus which essentially reset me back to about a minute, then 50, then 40, and now 30.

Well, i took about 4 hrs to memorize about the remaining 15 PLL algs (the rest i memorized from Mack's 4LLL page.

Right now I'm alright, but occasionally i have to relook at the algs I printed from cubewhiz.com for a few secs.

My full PLL average has since dropped to about say, 14 seconds? But its still slow. I found a way to recognise the PLLs by solving 2x1x1 blocks on the top layer.

18 seconds is NOT for 2LPLL. its just my full PLL times. But i agree that 2LPLL is much easier to recognise.

Overall, im getting along fine but i dont intend to start on OLLs till next month or December
