Hey!
I have been cubing for 7 weeks...
and this was my progress
Cyber said:
1 week record 74sec Avarage 83sec
2 week record 58sec Avarage 65sec
3 week record 46sec Avarage 58sec
4 week record 43sec Avarage 54sec
5 week record 30sec Avarage 37sec
6 week record 22.30 Avarage 32.63
7 week record 22.30 Avarage 29.31
And this is what I learned in that time..

week 1... Beginners method
week 2... Beginners method
week 3... F2L with beginners end
week 4... F2L 3-LLL(never learned 4-LLL)
week 5... F2L 3-LLL(Using fingers finally!)
week 6... F2L 3-LLL(Faster finger use)
week 7... F2L 3-LLL(slow down with fingers and do non-stop mostly)[/QUOTE]
U can also see it in YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/CyberRubiks
And my progress and question forum: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6521
Anyway... I think that those can help u...
Personally I prefer:
Cross(7 weeks ago, at start)
F2L(learned 6 weeks ago)
OLL(learned 2 days ago)
PLL(learned 3 weeks ago)
I wanna aswer many questies in one message...this gonna be long one...
Original average time: 65s average
learning new F2L since: 3 weeks ago
New average time: 69s
It is just normal that ur avarage gonna drop. Dont change back or u not gonna get good avarage...u neeed to do it again and again and once it gonna hapend: "snap"!
erm.. i dont have as much time as you have, maybe 10-15 solves a day, which adds up to 900+ solves in 2 months. looks like i cant get 40+ secs
10-15 solves is enought go to go down with avarage but it will hapend slowly, u need to be patient...(even thought I do 300-400solves in a day

)
Learning Full Fridrich soon, starting with PLL.
any tips for learning PLLs+OLLs?
When u are learning OLLs u need to memorize less algs in day. With PLLs more. That´s cause human brain can´t do much un every day when u need to do that long time...(more OLLs that PLL xD) Also... the more solves in next day the more u can learn in single day cause u brains gonna gear them up. Dont have rush but u can take more than 3 algs easily if u work with them lot...(I learned all PLLs in less than 2 days and OLLs in around 9 days. It is a lot of work to do!) Also if u do that at night and go to bad after memorizing, It might help!
I would have advised you to practice a bit more with the beginner's method before attempting to learn F2L. I started learning it when I had a consistent average of ~45 seconds with the beginners method.
I dont really know.... i have a best average of 50.47 seconds now but my best timing has not improved. should i start on PLLs when i reach sub 40s average? or should i wait for sub 30?
You should learn each algorithm in parts. Like memorize 3 moves for an algorithm, doing it with your eyes closed, and finish the rest of the algorithm looking at the notation. Then memorize the next 3 moves, and so on until you finish memorizing the algorithm. If you don't already, try to use finger tricks in your algorithms, and practice it until you get used to it, so you won't forget it. Using this method, I can memorize an algorithm and not forget it in about 10 minutes. This is totally your decision, but I wouldn't recommend learning more than 3 algorithms per day, because you might forget them.
ive been thinking about that too. is it s safe for 5 algs a day? i am a bit rushed for time now
As I told u. 5 algs is fine if u work with them well...Also if u forget those u can relearn them and one day u will remember them anyway! U can start learning more algs(OLL and PLL) when ever u feel so but I think only limit is that dont try to work with every step at the same time. work with them 1 by 1! First F2L, then 2-L-OLL, then 1-L-PLL and finally 1-L OLL.
now i'm down to PLL+OLL. best time 34.27 s. what do yuo think? how do i go forward from here?
However, simply learning the algs and mastering the fingertricks and whatnot of said alg will also not directly result in lower times. Rather, recognition of the alg as fast as possible will help u reduce times drastically.
in what way do i "look ahead" and recognise the algs fast?
U can recognize situation fast just doing it again and again. No other way. When u have recognised it and know what do to -> do it as fast as u can! Look ahead needs more fucused training. While u are placing one pair look for another pair. U need to find another pair(edge and corner) before u have finished filling the slot...that way u can just fill the slots with non-stop. About training: U need to slow down during F2L until u can see another pair in time and u dont need to stop! U times not gonna drop at first but like F2L. Later u will reach much faster times...
HOW do I go about memorising them, then execute them quickly?
Algs...hmmm... I did this way...think the situation like it would be F2L... U insert one pair from its slot, move it around and place it back. Try to find pair which u dont break during alg and see how it moves around the cube. Dont memorize turns, just memorize how u moved a pair! It gonna help u see alg easier...
Switch to Roux! Seriously, my timer dropped immediately.
Is'nt CFOP better?
As I said... I prefer Friedrich, like the most of world competitors (Cross, F2L, OLL and PLL)!
EDIT: BTW BADMEPHISTO IS GODLY!! his tutorials are THE best on youtube! watch them they help a ton!
ya and what is his youtube address?
I checked his videos and I think that these gonna help u most of them all...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdSiQQ9VSEY&feature=user
The second video... situation which is named car in here
http://badmephisto.dyndns.org/site/2LookOLL.pdf can be done also faster! Rotate whole cube 90 degree and do R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R'
That´s all about it... Anything else? Just write it in my forum or message for me. If u post it here -> Im not so sure will I check this forum every time
