I find the optimal ZBLLs to be occasionally useful for FMC. Like (l' U2 R' u2 R B2 U2 R' u2 l U2 R)--possibly one of the jankiest ZBLL algorithms, but 12f*.

I prefer to remember (y) Niklas Niklas for speed, and use insertions for FMC.

Is ZBLL worth it?

Or rather, would learning ZBLL decrease my times enough to the point that it would make a significant improvement? I use CFOP, and can only get 40-30 second solves. Would knowing ZBLL along with full OLL and PLL help enough to get my times lower?

My problem with ZBLL is the sheer amount of algs there are to learn. :confused: Would it benefit to at least know a few of them? I know some world class cubers like Feliks know at least some ZBLL, and they obviously know what they're doing. As I'm rather new when it comes to cubing, I still need a bit of direction when it comes to getting faster.

What? If you average 30-40, you should just practise and learn lookahead, I didn't learn full PLL and I got to sub 25 times.

Just practice. You can get sub-30 with 4LLL. Just learn Full PLL and when you get around 15 seconds, learn Full OLL. It's possible to get sub-8 averages just with Fridrich and of course - a lot of practice.

I have to admit, I can't help but think that perhaps learning ZBLL is slowing down my progress, but I would really like to see if it's worth it, which is why I intend to finish learning full ZBLS and ZBLL.

I believe Feliks knows the full triple sune set, and always uses it when he gets the case. For the most part, I don't think it's worth it (besides a .03 second decrease in your times )

It's kinda hard to say but I know ~80% of ZBLL-U. I know many other algs from learning COLL, and learning inverses of random algs. If I had to guess, I think I know 30% of ZBLL in total. As for ZBLS, I haven't even bothered with that yet...

I do plan on releasing ZBLL table of algs someday but it will take a long time before it will be complete. Brest and I work on this table from time to time. I'm hoping to finish ZBLL-U and ZBLL-T during the summer at least. We try our best to find algs of decent quality. It's important that the algs are reliable and fast in solves

After this, I might create a huge playlist of videos on youtube, showing how I recognise every case, + how I execute every corresponding alg. Gimme a few more years

Can't you do ZBLS pretty intuitively?

I know most of 2GLL and a lot of ZZLL and I think the main problem is that they are not that useful in solves and they are very easy to forget without practice. I realize that they come back easier the second time but I am not sure if it is worth it.

Also for your list. I found this ZZLL T alg which I like but it wasn't in any of the databases. R2'B'R'U'RURB RUR2U2R'U2R' I remember that being leagues better for me.

Antoine, if you're talking about something like VH, you definitely can, but it won't be as fast as proper ZBLS.
