Beginner in NEED of advice

HELLO! I don't have any experience in any cube, but recently took a dive in interest. But i'm interested with big cubes 8x8 9x9 are my choices to start with. Many will say start way smaller and their input is appreciated, though seriously would any of you recommend starting with a BIG 1? The learning curve must be a monster but I'm more that willing and enthusiastic about it. Comments please :D

I think pretty much everyone who doesn't start with 2x2 does, since it's the normal size you see in stores. Every puzzle contains every puzzle below it, so learning 8x8 will let you solve everything below 8x8 as well. Plus, once you know 3, 4 and 5 you can solve any cube.
 
great advice I'll get both, I also searched the site and can't find any tutorials on big cubes.....care to help? any source will be appreciated :)
